Job Description SBS Transportation is seeking a Freight Broker in our Heavy Haul/Flatbed division! The Freight Broker is responsible for carrier development, rate negotiations with carriers, generating sales leads, providing pricing to customers, as well as entering and updating data in the Transportation Management System. As Freight Broker, you will also be responsible for ensuring carrier safety and compliance, POD recovery, as well as process development. This is a salaried position between $60,000-$70,000 and operates during regular business hours in St. Paul, MN. Qualified Candidates Will Have: Effective Communication, including Writing, Speaking and interpersonal CommunicatioAt least 3-5 years experience in brokering flatbed and heavy haul freight Quick critical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesGood collaboration and teamwork abilitiesThe ability to work in a face paced environmentThe ability to multi-task with attention to detailThe ability to have patience when working in highly stressful situations Requirements:Experience developing a strong carrier base and carrier relationsStrong negotiation skillsDemonstrated experience with DOT rules and regulationsStrong analytical skills, with ability to create dashboards and performance tracking systems.
