We plan to grow our team in 2022 to accelerate and support our growth objectives. We are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer to join as a member of our Video Team. Our Technical Sales Engineer will report directly to the company President and works closely with other members of the Video Team while maintaining company vision and culture. Nagios Enterprises is looking for a high energy, knowledgeable Technical Sales Engineer who thrives when working in conjunction with the sales team as a key technical advisor and product advocate. The Technical Sales Engineer must be able to seamlessly articulate technology and product positioning during the pre-sales process. You will be an integral part of the Nagios Team where you will provide subject matter expertise and support to customers, partners, and internal team members. You will use your technical knowledge to assist a wide range of customers with very diverse needs as well as working to enable Nagios partners to sell and build on Nagios Enterprise Solutions.Why is working for Nagios the best? This includes lunch provided every Tuesday and Thursday, workplace outings, and volunteering opportunities.Hours: Monday-Friday 9:00-5:00pmLocation: St. Paul, MinnesotaWage: $40+/hr commensurate with experience and qualificationsJob Duties:Provide and explain technical concepts to the Nagios Sales Team, potential customers, and Nagios PartnersCoordinate heavily with the Support Tech team, Product Team, Partner Team, and the Sales Team to drive sales and meet goalsCreate and deliver energetic and in-depth solution presentations and demonstrations for the Nagios Sales Team, potential customers, and Nagios PartnersProduce and continually maintain technical documentation for Nagios Partners in conjunction with the Nagios Product TeamWork directly with Nagios Partners to support their technical needs; POCs, implementation, requirements, etc.Document and share feedback (product issues, feature requests, technical requirements, etc.) with Nagios Product, Support and Channel TeamsAdeptly communicate technical concepts to all user experience levels with native and non-native English speakers alikeOngoing, proactive learning, including incorporating and sharing new knowledge and skills into your regular on the job activitiesRespond to incoming technical inquiries from customers and partners to educate and influence their buying decisionsOperate with transparency, integrity and respect that reflects a positive attitudeEducation & Experience: Local to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area3-5 years of experience in a technical sales role or customer facing technical positionExperience and familiarity with modern infrastructures such as SaaS, cloud, containers, etc.Experience deploying/supporting IT infrastructure (servers, software, networks, etc.)General knowledge of, or willingness to learn, about Nagios productsAdditional Desired Skills:Previous Nagios experienceExperience with performance and monitoring toolsMulti-lingualKnowledge of programming and scripting languagesProficiency with LAMP stackKnowledge of network architectureUnderstanding of common ports and protocolsCompetencies: Proactive, self-motivated self-starterAbility to effectively communicate complex ideas in an easy-to-understand mannerExcellent problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal skillsPreparation and Attention to DetailProfessional work ethic and attitudeTeamwork and CollaborationBenefits:Competitive salaries, a matching 401k, and paid vacationWe support growing families by offering paid parental leave in addition to medical, dental, and virtual health benefitsEmployer-paid Short & Long-Term Disability Insurance & Life Insurance
