This position pays a minimum starting hourly wage of $24 - $28 (paid weekly and overtime applicable) based on experience. You will provide technical expertise to support project managers on environmental investigation and remediation projects for Bay West's various Federal, State, and Private sector clients. Typical projects include sites contaminated with petroleum, chlorinated solvents, metals, and residual munitions constituents. Remedies implemented by Bay West include vapor mitigation using sub-slab mitigation, in-situ bio stimulation, in situ chemical oxidation, soil vapor extraction, air sparging, multi-phase recovery, excavation, and groundwater extraction/treatment. Additionally, you'll be part of our Emergency Response team (additional compensation applicable).Bay West offers a robust benefit package including:Employer subsidized medical, health savings account, and dental plan401k plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance and additional options like vision and flex spendinglong term growth potential in numerous capacities including analytics, earth sciences, environmental remediation, project managementsupport and encouragement to obtain additional credentials and certifications a culture that empowers all employees to stop a job - we walk the safety talk!competitive wages and individual consideration as your expertise and responsibilities expanda business casual environment with great co-workers Responsibilities:Performs lab packing, drum pickups, and transportation and disposal services for hazardous and non-hazardous materials at customer sites.Assists T&D Team Leader with the planning, scheduling, reviewing, and approving of job assignments for a medium-sized T&D crew (25) to complete a task or project in a timely and efficient manner.Creates and prints manifests, labels, Land Disposal Restrictions (LDRs), waste profiles, etc., for T&D projects using a web-based waste management program.Tracks and stores T&D-related information in the internal document management system.Manages waste materials in and out of a 10-day hazardous waste transfer facility.Assists T&D Team Leader daily with developing and documenting transportation and disposal procedures.Assists with Household Hazardous Waste collections as needed.Performs Industrial Services Projects, including tank cleanings and facility decontaminations and cleanings.Assists with Emergency Response (ER) activities, including determining ER equipment needs, loading ER equipment, and performing cleanup activities (including 1 week of 24/7 on-call every 6-8 weeks).Occasionally required to perform out-of-town projects lasting 2-5 days (typically once a quarter)Required QualificationsMust have a high school diploma or equivalent Must have a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with acceptable driving recordHold Hazmat endorsement (or ability to obtain within first 120 days of employment)Must possess or have access to a reliable mode of transportation on a 24-hour basisMust have a minimum of 2 years of related experience including but not limited to manifesting and shipping hazardous materialMicrosoft Office Suite skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook and ability to use various internal programsExcellent decision making, problem solving and analytical skills.Demonstrated record of commitment to safety of self, co-workers, and equipmentHigh level of initiative with the ability to act with a sense of urgency. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects with multiple sub-tasks simultaneously dailyAttention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.Preferred Qualifications40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification; will provide for otherwise qualified candidateComprehensive knowledge of DOT and RCRA hazardous waste rules and regulationsExperience with lab-packs, spill response and industrial cleaningEssential Physical Requirements:Requires driving (up to 8 hours in a day), standing, walking, lifting, carrying, bending, and graspingWork environment can include high heat and extreme coldFrequently lift 25 pounds; occasionally lift 50 pounds Ability to safely use drum handling equipment to aid in moving drums (up to 500 pounds)Proof of COVID-19 vaccination per specific client requirements Bay West is an equal opportunity employer that recognizes the value of a diverse workforce.
