Minnetronix Medical Sr. Facilities Maintenance Technician Sr. Paul, MN -- -- Job Summary: The Sr. Facilities Maintenance Technician has responsibilities for facilities maintenance and repairs under the direction of the VP Quality and Regulatory Affairs, including preventative maintenance, repairs, building systems repair and maintenance, and in developing and maintaining a clean and safe physical environment. This position is also a member of the Safety Committee -- Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.) Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools Performs repairs, plans and estimates maintenance and repair work, maintains records of work requests and completion Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.) Ensures general landscape repairs, exterior maintenance and snow removal Interacts with building landlord, outside building and maintenance vendors to obtain services required to provide the necessary maintenance. Reconfigures, installs, positions, and mounts modular offices and space (e.g. furniture, wall panels, work surfaces, storage binds, lighting, file cabinets, etc.) to accommodate user needs and maximize office space using various hand, power and specialty tools, dollies and hand trucks Establishes and maintains preventative maintenance programs Performs emergency repairs, plans and estimates maintenance and repair work, maintains records of work requests and completion Monitors custodial services and security operations Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair Reviews and evaluates current operating procedures and makes recommendations Ensures fire code requirements are being met Provides 24/7 on call services as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of operations, service and activities of a facilities maintenance program Drive forklift Drive vertical lift Proficient understanding of construction methods and practices; tools, materials, methods and procedures used in building facilities and repair Knowledge of federal, state and local low ordinance and regulations pertaining to the building industry and safety practices is preferred. Good mathematics skills to determine estimated cost of projects Ability to coordinate vendor's workers including; assigning, reviewing and evaluating work; read and interpret blue print drawings, maintain records of building maintenance and repairs Ability to prepare simple correspondence using correct grammar Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be customer service oriented Ability to organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines Ability to work with minimal supervision Requirements A minimum of 5-7 years' work experience required in facilities operations doing the duties listed above. Any combinations of education that provides required knowledge of skill and abilities deemed necessary for this position Preference will be given to those who have some college, specialized training and/or professional licenses Must be able to use a smart phone and/or tablet Required Physical Abilities Ability to bend, stoop, reach, stand, move from one area of the building to another on a regular basis Must be able to climb and work from an extension ladder, step ladder or lift. Must be able to work from heights of 25 feet. Must be able to drive fork lift and vertical lift Manual and physical dexterity needed to operate maintenance equipment. Vision acuity to include distance, color, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Adequate hearing and verbal abilities to communicate effectively in person and by telephone. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally move more than 100 pounds. -- We Make it Easy--- Applying takes less than 2 minutes.
