Position Title: PNAM Program Career Navigator - Center or Nursing

Overview: The Career Navigator will provide individualized support
to each PNAM apprentice before, during, and after the
apprenticeships. The Career Navigator reports to the PNAM Program
Director and is a single contact to coordinate financial services,
educational support, and wrap-around services. The Navigator will
have close contact and thorough knowledge of academic and student
support services at each grant-partnered college to connect
students to individualized support needs. The Navigator will be
connected with the workforce centers in each region where the
apprentices are located so that apprentices will have local access
to support services. The Career Navigator will be a single point of
contact for PNAM grant participants across all PNAM funded nursing
programs and will coordinate access to wrap-around services. This
includes pre-apprenticeship assistance such as apprentice
application assistance, resume writing, interview skills,
assistance applying for financial aid and scholarships, and
baseline evaluation of support needs with connection to services.
During the program the Navigator will meet twice monthly with
participants to tailor wrap-around services such as tutoring,
counseling, child care, SNAP, transportation, employer-based aid,
work readiness support, licensure support, and assistance with
NCLEX preparation. Post-program services include: job application
assistance, resume writing, interview skills, applications to
ongoing nursing education programs (i.e. RN to BSN, APRN), and
connection to support services for nurse retention. The Career
Navigator will be responsible for entering tracking information and
data into Workforce One.
