Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) (NUWAY - University

Alcohol and Drug Counselor to work in a full-time capacity at our
St. Paul location.Standalone LADC or ADCT Counselors have an annual
salary of $70,000 and Dual Licensed Counselors have an annual

Position OverviewThe Counselor plays an important role in the
delivery of treatment services to the clients and is responsible
for ensuring that all clients receive services as mandated by the
Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). The Counselor
provides services to support achievement of effective personal
development working with clients individually and in group settings
to identify and resolve issues including substance use, mental
health, personal and/or emotional and family issues. Counselors
must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with
state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.Qualifications,
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required for LADC:Current LADC
LicenseAge 18 or olderDemonstrated working knowledge in the field
of substance use disorder and/or mental health, in an addiction
treatment facilityPrevious counseling or counseling internship
requiredHigh degree of computer literacy including experience using
an electronic health records (EHR) systemExcellent written,
communication, customer service, and case management skillsAble to
pass Minnesota DHS background studyPossess maturity, patience,
understanding and empathy with recovering individuals and work with
a multidisciplinary teamAbility to relate to people from diverse
backgroundsPhysical Demands: Sitting for extended periods of time.
Daily use of general office and/or residential facility equipment.
Lifting (max 10 pounds), minimal reaching, bending and stooping.
Ability to effectively navigate program and office environment such
as ascending and descending steps, passing through doorways and
entrances, and accessing program/office facilities.
Preferred:Additional Licenses: LP, LICSW, LMFT, LPCCBachelor's or
master's degree in related fieldSkilled consultant and
facilitatorStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong
facilitation, negotiation, investigation and mediation skillsThis
