to positively impact the type of care our patients receive and
overall experience. As a patient care assistant, you will be
responsible for assisting the patient with activities of daily
living (ADLs), providing patient care treatments which include but
are not limited to, discontinuing IVs, restraint monitoring, and
collecting patient vitals, weights, and intake & output all in a
safe, timely, and effective matter. This position regularly
collects specimens such as urine, stool, and finger stick blood
glucose at the direction of the nurse. The patient care assistant
responds to patient call lights and requests, communicates with
patients and visitors, and assist the nurses with procedures as
requested. This position also documents and charts in our
electronic health system. Work Schedule/FTE: We are currently
looking to hire for various in-patient units ranging from 40 to 64
hours per two week pay period and varying shifts. The shifts at
Regions Hospital are: day shift: 7am - 3:30pm evening shift: 3pm -
11:30pm night shift: 11pm - 7:30am The patient care assistant
position does require you work every other weekend. Required
Qualifications: Education: Completion of a certified nursing
assistant (CNA) training program required - certification preferred
(must have occurred within the last 5 years) or Experience:
Experience in an acute care setting as a nursing assistant (minimum
of 520 hours and has occurred within the last 5 years) or
completion of one clinical rotation in a RN or LPN program within
the past 12 months or Experience as an Emergency room Technician
(minimum of 6 months at 40 hours per two week pay period) And A
current Basic Life Support CPR certification from either the
American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Preferred
Qualifications: High school degree of equivalent Prior experience
in acute care or hospital setting Nursing assistant certification
Proficiency using Electronic Health Record (EPIC) Excellent written
and verbal communication skills Benefits: Our Patient Care
Assistants who work above a .5 FTE (40 hours per 2 weeks) are
