Job Description:

SUMMARYThe Supply Coordinator orders, maintains and provides adequate supplies for all Nursing staff, following budgetary guidelines.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate supplies for daily operation on all nursing units.*
  • Communicate with nursing departments regarding issues with orders regarding delivery.*
  • Receive, deliver and stock nursing supplies on nursing units.*
    • Ensure specialized medical equipment is distributed to correct staff members or resident rooms.*4. Support various other responsibilities as needed.
      West Campus Only
      • Review and complete purchase orders within Sholom procedural and budgetary guidelines.*
        • Work with vendors to ensure good working relationships and assist in the negotiation process.*
        • Obtain and document all order confirmations.*
        • Follow up on open orders, receipt, and delivery issues.*
        • Maintain purchasing records according to requirements.*

            JOB SPECIFICATIONSEducation, Experience and Credentials
            • Experience in long-term care preferred.
            • Work experience in medical supplies and budget tracking preferred.
              Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
              • Effectively communicate with people of all levels, both inside and outside the organization.
              • Flexible and productive in an environment with regular interruptions.
              • Display high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization.
              • Possess effective problem solving skills.
              • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet and other applications.
                PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOBIncumbent must be able to:
                • Perform heavy work, lifting up to 50 pounds, and frequently lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 20 pounds as needed.
                • Effectively communicate, including following oral and written instructions, in order to communicate with people inside and outside the organization.
                • Able to effectively use office equipment to review and create information.
                • Work at a desk for periods of time and performing work at a computer.
                • Frequently stand and walk to move around office/building repeatedly throughout the day.
                • Able to work a flexible work schedule, including overtime, nights and weekends as required including attending events/meetings as needed.
                  TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
                  • Use telephone, computer and standard office equipment.
                    WORK ENVIRONMENTThe work environment is indoors. The incumbent must be flexible about switching positions quickly in order to respond to the needs of residents, in responding to emergencies.
