Job Responsibilities/Duties:This post-doctoral associate position
is for 1 year with some likelihood to be extended for a second year
and beyond to 5 years. This is primarily a position geared toward
fMRI data analysis of both connectivity and activity using matlab,
spm12 or other software the candidate is highly proficient with.
The ideal candidate will have skills in programming and fmri data
analysis, and/or highly flexible and able to learn fmri data
analysis. Coding skills are also sought after. This work can be
conducted remotely but other laboratory work described below
requires in-person presence.Other activities may include the
following as needed by the project:Administration and mastery of
experimental computer tasks and data management in the Minnesota
super-computing institute (MSI) in coordination with
co-investigators (COI's) and with the principal investigator (PI).
Aiding the PI in recruitment of other candidates for research
assistants or/and managing students. A candidate is not expected to
have all the pre-existing training. However, strong cognitive
skills paired with a strong desire to learn biological
developmental psychopathology research is a requirement.The other
research related activities include running the scanning sessions
as 2nd chair at the center for magnetic resonance research.With
training by the PI and current personnel any post-doctoral
candidate is expected to eventually master the role of first chair
in the center for magnetic resonance research (CMRR) to conduct an
independent scanning and real time functional magnetic resonance
imaging (fmri) acquisitions of data. It is also expected that the
candidate will have the social skills and basic emotional
intelligence to become trained in interfacing with families and
adolescents that participate in the research conducted by this
team. The PI and current personnel will adapt training to
pre-existing knowledge or skill gaps for suitable post-doctoral
candidates.Work hours are expected to be flexible. This position
entails working on weekends and late hours (e.g.) starting at 3 pm
to adapt to children's and families' school and work schedules.
Candidates are encourage to adapt their time to take time off after
or before scheduled participants to respond to research
participant's enrollment and schedules.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Concluded Phd or PsyD, all but dissertation status, or a
combination of education and work experience equal to an almost
finished graduate degree.Preferred Qualifications: 1. Knowledge in
statistics, basic analysis and software package usage to conduct
preliminary analysis including but not restricted to: SPSS, R,
MATLAB, SAS or any other appropriate statistical package. 2. Having
mastered Matlab coding or/and having learned and having previously
used batch systems in SPM12 to pre-process and analyze data.3.
Existing and current training on magnetic resonance research and
hands on experience being 1st chair or leading a magnetic resonance
imaging scanning session independently (or willingness and ability
to be trained toward independence).4. Knowledge administering
structured clinical interviews like the SKID or the KSADS or a
willingness to learn.5. Practical knowledge on psychiatric or
psychological clinical assessment and interviewing (or willingness
and ability to learn and achieve independence).6. Good basic social
skills and ability to respond to challenging interactions with
research participants and/or their parents.
