Position Overview for Admissions LADCThe Admissions Counselor
plays an important role in the delivery of treatment services to
the clients ensuring both funding and clinical appropriateness.
This position is responsible for assisting new clients through the
admissions process ensuring that all clients receive services
mandated by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). The
Admissions Counselor is responsible for completing the intake,
orientation and assessment for all incoming clients. This role also
ensures that clients are able to obtain appropriate funding in
order to complete recommended treatment services. Admissions
Counselors must be able to maintain client confidentiality in
accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA
requirements.Responsibilities of Admissions LADCWork with the
Admissions Coordinator to ensure all treatment inquiries and new
clients are successfully enrolled in treatment servicesUpdate Rule
25's, complete competency assessments, and coordinate with funding
sources in order to ensure client is successfully enrolled into
services. Understand treatment admissions barriers and work with
client to successfully enroll in programming, demonstrate and
respond to clients and referrals request for treatment and tend to
details related to various admission circumstances with which a
client may presentIn cooperation with the Program Director,
evaluate and modify program design for the purpose of meeting
licensure requirements and needs of clientsMaintain membership and
participation in other related professional organizationsUnder
direction of the Admissions Supervisor, Program Director and
Program Manager(s), deliver services meeting licensure requirements
and individual client needs as a member of the multi-disciplinary
team in residential or outpatient settingsProvide individual case
management/file documentation for assigned caseload, noting all
treatment related activities and services in an accurate,
professional, and timely manner, creating and monitoring
individualized treatment plans, providing group therapy and
individual counseling services to individuals with co-occurring
substance abuse and mental health issuesProvide culturally
sensitive and relevant services to diverse clients and their
familiesResponsible for complying with federal and state
confidentiality statutes following the approved lines of authority
set by the Program Director, upholding ethical standards
established and implied by the profession, and DHS rules, and
maintenance of all required licenses including but not limited
to:Providing the appropriate current license(s) for their employee
fileProviding documentation for 8 credit hours of annual mental
health trainingFamiliarity with MN 245G and the said company's
House Policies and Procedures Manual as they relate to client
services, client records and personnelManaging and communicating
details around client fundingPerform data entry/updates for
assigned clients into Minnesota Department of Human Services on
DAANESAttend in-service training sessions sufficient to meet
professional requirementsKeep abreast of rules and changes in
substance use disorder (SUD) treatment fieldBe available to
represent the organization outside the facility as neededConduct
oneself in a manner that presents a positive reflection on
professionalism as an asset to the image of the
organizationIntroduce/transport clients to program site as
neededSome responsibilities may expand beyond normal core business
hours, including the weekend (for Residential)Other duties as
assigned or requiredRequired Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and
Experience for Admissions LADC:Current LADC LicenseMinimum of AA
degree in related fieldAge 18 or olderDemonstrated working
knowledge in the field of substance use disorder and/or mental
health, in an addiction treatment facilityHigh degree of computer
literacy including experience using an electronic health records
(EHR) systemExcellent written, communication, customer service, and
case management skillsAble to pass Minnesota DHS background
studyMust be free of problematic substance use for at least two
years immediately preceding employment and must sign a statement
attesting to that factPossess maturity, patience, understanding and
empathy with recovering individuals and work with a
multidisciplinary teamAbility to relate to people from diverse
backgroundsPhysical Demands: Sitting for extended periods of time.
Daily use of general office equipment. Lifting (max 10 pounds),
minimal reaching, bending and stooping. Ability to effectively
navigate program or office environment such as ascending and
descending steps, passing through doorways and entrances, and
accessing program/office facilities.Preferred:ADDITIONAL LICENSES:
LP, LICSW, LMFT, LPCCBachelor or Master degree in related field4-6
years of related experienceSkilled consultant and facilitatorStrong
analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong facilitation,
