ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE USED TO FILL UP TO TWELVE (12) POSITIONS.These
positions exist to actively monitor, assess, and respond to the
security status of the Capitol Complex on a 24/7 basis. These
positions will coordinate the response system through dispatching
services and completing detailed logs for all services
provided.Minimum Qualifications1. Associates degree in Criminal
Justice, Law Enforcement, Public Safety/Security or closely related
field;OR
- One year of experience as a Security Officer, Crime Prevention
Officer, Peace Officer, or closely related profession; and
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Valid MN Drivers License.
- Strong interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate
with the public and stakeholders.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions, speak, read, and
understand the English language sufficiently to read and apply
security procedures, write reports and interact with
customers.Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Public
Safety/Security or closely related field;
- Formal first aid/CPR training (Red Cross or equivalent);
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Outlook computer
applications;
- Working knowledge of the Capitol complex and associated
grounds; and
- Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse
backgrounds.Physical RequirementsThese positions requires Officers
to possess unique physical abilities; Hearing Requirements: must
not have more than a 35 DB loss in either ear when averaging the
loss at 500, 1000, 2000 and 3000 HZ; must be capable of standing
for prolonged periods, walking long distances, have the ability to
run, and have the ability to climb stairs and ladders.Additional
