Responsibilities:
30% Uses equipment and other resources to obtain data. This may
include IVIS imager, irradiator core, mice and any techniques
involving mice to obtain tissue/blood for study.
30% Analyzes data using programs such as FlowJo and Prism and
presents data in a statistically appropriate way for use in
publications and future grant proposals.
20% Cell culture, and preparing cells for studies. Expanding cell
lines when needed and testing for mycoplasma on a regular
basis.
10% Assists in coordinating in vivo experiments, including
scheduling of equipment and coordinating with other researchers
when appropriate.
10% Mouse colony maintenance. Weaning mice when needed, and keeping
record of what's going on in the breeder room.
Qualifications
All required qualifications must be documented on application
materialsRequired Qualifications:
* BA/BS in Biology, Genetics or related field of science with
relevant coursework on Immunology and Cellular Biology, plus one
year of experience, or a combination of related education and
experience to total five years.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Proficiency in Flow Cytometry, cell culture and mouse
handling.
* Previous experience in a research setting
* Computer experience: Experience with Flow Jo and PRISM
* Wet lab experience: Knowledge of aseptic cell culture, PCR,
ELISA
* Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems
* Good communication and writing skills
