Job Description:
Job Summary The CNC Operator II produces machined parts by
independently operating a computer numericanl control (CNC) Lathes
and/or Mills. This position runs production lots, troubleshoots and
edits code as necessary, keeps records, communicates with
co-workers and managers regarding production runs, and maintains
quality and safety standards.nnnEssential Job Duties
&nResponsibilities * Troubleshoot machine issues and perform
tool changes, tool wear offsets or change inserts.n* Identify
opportunities to reduce machining time through process
improvements.n* Understand, interpret and edit FANUC programming
code.nnn* Advise the maintenance department or supervisor of any
machine issues, crashes, or needed repairs.n* Complete partial or
pre-setups and tear-downs as assigned.n* Load and unload materials
and parts manually or using appropriate equipment or tools.n*
Independently operate CNC equipment and observe operations with
focused attention.nnn* Operate grinding and related tools to remove
excess material or burrs from surfaces.n* Assure quality by
inspecting finished parts;nreport irregularities or tolerance
deviations to supervisor or quality control personnel.n* Perform
tool wear offsets or change inserts to meet tolerance
requirements.nnn* Monitor progress toward, and meet production
goals.n* Follow, create and help maintain work
instructions;ncomplete required daily paperwork.n* Maintain
equipment and worksite by completing housekeeping, preventive
maintenance and daily inspection tasks.nnn* Perform other tasks as
warranted or assigned by management.nSupervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibility. The employee may
be required to assist other CNC Operators and serve as a trainer or
mentor.nWork Environment The employee is subject to inside
environmental conditions with protection from weather conditions
with moderate temperature fluctuation.nnThe employee is exposed to
hazards such as metal chips, oils and cutting fluids, and proximity
to moving parts which require adherence to safety procedures and
use of appropriate personal protective equipment.nnnPhysical
Requirements The employee is required to have visual acuity to
perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position
including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth
perception, and ability to focus. The employee will be regularly
required to stand, walk, and reach with their arms.nnThis position
requires occasional squatting/kneeling, forward bending,
twisting/turning, pushing/pulling, neck rotation or extension,
wrist rotation or extension, forearm rotation, grasping and
pinching. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and
carry up to 70lbs.nnThe employee may be required to move or
transfer products with an overhead crane, pallet jack and/or
forklift (with license).nMinimum Qualifications * High school
diploma or GED.n* Two years related experience and/or training, or
an equivalent combination of education and experience to perform
the essential job duties and responsibilities.nnn* Proficiency with
CNC controls.n* Experience operating CNC lathes and/or mills.n*
Experience reading part prints or drawings, and/or machining work
orders.n* Experience using standard quality inspection tools and
gages.nnn* Ability to perform basic mathematical computations
including the ability to apply concepts such as fractions,
percentages, ratios, proportions, geometry &ntrigonometry to
practical situations.n* Ability to follow written and verbal
instructions.n* Interpersonal communication skills characterized by
honest, professional, respectful communication and effective
listening skills.nnn* Fluency in English verbal and written
communication.n* Ability to meet production goals for quality and
quantity.n* Possess or willing to obtain hand tools required to
perform daily tasks.n* High level of dependability.nnn* Flexibility
with time and schedule, and availability for overtime when
required.nDesirable Qualifications * Three or more years related
experience and or training.n* Demonstrated problem solving and
reasoning ability in a manufacturing environment.n* Experience with
FANUC programming.nnn* Experience with CNC machine set-ups and/or
tear-downs.n* Forklift experience and/or active forklift
