Job Description:
Syntiron seeks a motivated Research Associate to join our
vaccine research and development team in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Join a research team working to combat antimicrobial resistant
bacteria by discovering and developing novel protein vaccines for
humans. The individual fulfilling this full-time opportunity
supports research activities for multiple project teams by
performing a variety of biotechnology assays and laboratory
functions. The individual will prioritize tasks, work with
colleagues and perform assays in order to provide data/results to
advance vaccine development in the areas of immunology,
microbiology, molecular biology and biochemistry. It is anticipated
that the individual will be a specialist in one of these areas, and
will be cross-trained in other disciplines related to vaccine
development. The candidate is expected to rapidly acquire new
skills and techniques to apply to current assignments and transfer
knowledge by training other team members. The candidate will work

Well-Being.Experience/Educational Requirements:4+ years of
experience conducting research in a biotechnology, microbiology or
immunology-focused laboratory BS or BA Degree or Diploma in
Biological Sciences or a specific biology disciplineTechnical
Skills & Qualities REQUIRED:Familiarity with general laboratory
techniques such as pipetting, plating cultures, gram staining,
serial dilutions, aseptic technique, mammalian cell culture and
proper decontamination proceduresFamiliarity with molecular biology
assays such as PCR, qPCR/gene expression, cloning, DNA sequencing,
DNA gels Familiarity with immunology assays such as ELISA, ELISPOT,
flow cytometryProject management skills enabling coordination of
projects spanning several months; ability to track progress toward
goals and resolve conflicting priorities across projectsStrong
written and oral communication skills Proper documentation and
storage of experimental resultsExcellent troubleshooting skills
with an ability to analyze technical issues and provide effective
solutionsCapable of multitasking on multiple projectsComfortable
working with research animalsA collaborative team member,
enthusiasm for researching new solutions and solving problems in a
timely mannerTechnical Skills & Experience PREFERRED:Protein
biochemistry assays, such as protein purification (including
chromatography), SDS-PAGE, western blot, endotoxin detection or BCA
protein concentrationExperience working in a Biosafety Level 2
environmentExperience with handling of research animalsExperience
developing and implementing controlled documents and Standard
Operating Procedures Experience developing and implementing
training programs, procedures and documentationA Commitment to
