West, we are seeking an experienced Geologist who is interested in
starting their journey to become a Project Manager. This position
will primarily support environmental projects and project managers
for a variety of federal customers. The successful candidate is not
requested to relocate and may work from home or an existing Bay
West office, if desired.Job Summary:The successful candidate will
be responsible for working with project managers supporting project
planning, estimating, planning, and executing groundwater
extraction and treatment system projects, including CERCLA or RCRA
remedial investigations and feasibility studies; remedial designs
and construction; long-term monitoring; and military munitions
remediation program. Ideal candidate must be able to perform the
following responsibilities:
- Lead preparation of project documents, including projects plans
and reports.
- Assist project managers and manage project tasks. Tasks may
include managing task budget, managing field events (procure
equipment and supplies, manage subcontractors, manage task
logistics, direct field staff), leading internal project meetings,
attending meetings with clients.
- Knowledge of environmental investigations and remediation
projects regulated by RCRA, CERCLA, DoD, DoE, or USEPA.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with
internal project team members, subcontractors, and teaming
partners.
- Attend Pre-bid site walksPeriodic business travel is required.
Travel is anticipated to consist of visits to project sites, and
client offices. Travel is expected about 5-10% of the year and may
be local or overnight.Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of a BS or BA degree in Environmental Science, Geology,
Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 5 years of environmental consulting experience
- Minimum of 2 year of experience working on environmental
investigations and/or remediation projects regulated by RCRA,
CERCLA, DoD, DoE, or USEPA
- Working familiarity with environmental assessment field data
collection methods and procedures
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental
regulationsPreferred Skills/Certifications:
- Effective and demonstrable technical writing and data
analysis/management skills
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training
- Ability to foster friendly, positive, productive, and team
relationships
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills (both
written and verbal)
- Ability to be self-directed and work independently, as well as
a team-player
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize and
manage multiple projects in a fast-paced collaborative
