Academic Support Specialist Work Schedule: Approximately
7:45am-4:15pm, Monday-Friday, includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch
break Start Date: Fall 2022 Pay: $20.00/Hour Benefits: Single

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or a combination of education
and/or experience to total four years Strong verbal and written
communication skills, both formal and informal Ability to work
effectively independently and in teams Effective in organization
and managing tasks and activities Intercultural competence Ability
to travel to sites inside and outside of the district Capability to
work a flexible schedule both before and after the school day
Knowledge in a variety of technical, computer based software
Arrange and prioritize schedules to facilitate or participate in
meetings Established, successful experience working with young
adults Desired Qualifications Bilingual fluency in Hmong, Spanish,
or Somali Familiarity with Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google
Forms, Google Drive, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word Familiarity
with educational structures such as courses, grades, schedules and
co-curricular activities Familiarity with navigating college or
post-secondary systems Responsibilities: Cultural mentoring using
structured dialogue and activities for a case load of approximately
20 [non-special education] middle school or high school students
around topics like: identity development, race, mindsets, biases,
stereotypes, situational appropriateness, media, differences and
more. Academic supervision and mentoring using structured dialogue,
modeling and apprenticeship for a case load of approximately 20
[non-special education] middle school or high school students
around skills like: organization, self-reflection, grade point
average monitoring, attendance, self-advocacy, career pathways,
homework completion, access to programs/courses, discipline,
participation and more. Strengthen relationships with families and
participating students in an attempt to build and bridge access to
academic, social and emotional growth opportunities. Strengthen
relationships with building leaders and staff in an attempt to
build and bridge access to professional development
leadership/learning opportunities. Meet regularly with Office of
Educational Equity staff to align with district equity goals,
provide updates, analyze data and gain access to professional
development. Meet regularly with building principal to align
building site improvement plan and equity goals, provide updates,
analyze data and gain access to professional development. Meet
regularly with other Cultural-Academic Support Specialists from
across the district to align strategies and outcomes, provide
updates, problem solve, analyze data and gain access to
professional development. Other related duties as assigned. ISD 622
