Job Description:
Job Summary: Receive materials, ensure proper stocking, schedule
shop orders and perform fabrication. Coordinates various duties for
Project Managers. Maintains and schedules projects according to
strict deadlines and project requirements. Assists with the
resolution of project demands. Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain an efficient, clean and organized work area. Fabricate
Granite and Marble: cut and shape stone according to drawings and
templates, profiling, edge work, bowl holes, cutouts, honing,
refinishing, dry/wet polishing. Perform manual labor to move
material around shop and jobsites Correctly and safely use
grinders, sanders, cutting tools, profiling tools, CNC Machine,
Water Jet, other tolls as needed within the warehouse and shop.
Review shop drawings with project managers. Determine production
requirements, product specs and scheduled delivery dates. Plan
production operations, establish priorities and sequences for
manufacturing schedule. Schedule work assignments to Shop
Employees. Compile and produce production reports, production
schedules and exception reports as required. Advise Safety
Director/Stone Shop Manager of all stone quality issues. Purchase
supplies and equipment as needed. Maintain all machinery and
equipment in good working condition using shop repair personnel or
outside repair shops. Develop or revise standard operation
processes. Hire, train, evaluate and discipline all shop employees.
Assist employees with difficult tasks. Monitor job progress. Ensure
stone shop is maintained neat, clean and organized. Installation of
finished materials. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills,
Abilities) High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum 5 years of related experience and / or training, or
equivalent combination of education and experience in manufacturing
operations. Ability to read and interpret documents such as plans
and project specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedure manuals. Full knowledge of fabrication
machinery with ability to operate and troubleshoot problems.
Ability to train and coach entry-level employees. Ability to read
project specs/blueprints and inspect finished products. Ability to
organize and manage multiple priorities within established
deadlines Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or
employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and
divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common
fractions, and decimals. Ability to carry out instructions
furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Working knowledge of
Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to lift 100 lbs. Must have a current, valid driver's
license. Ability to operate a forklift safely and correctly. Focus
