Job Summary

Job Summary

To assist in the daily operation of the Public Safety warehouse. The primary responsibility for this position is managing incoming and outgoing inventory. This includes receiving, order filling, proper storage, and physical inventories. This position will include providing delivery and pick up service for the operating divisions of the department. In addition, provides back up for other PSW positions, which include managing storage, retrieval and disposal of records for the Department of Public Safety's record center.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Customer service skills to maintain effective working relationship with a variety of persons from within and without the Department.
  • Knowledge of written spoken English to understand and be understood during in-person, email/written and phone interactions with customers.
  • Data entry experience sufficient to entering data in records.
  • Excellent driving record.
  • Ability to operate various types of hand and power equipment to move, load, and unload truck and pallets.
  • Ability to deliver supplies, move record boxes, handle recycled materials and recycled material containers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and up to 70 pounds assisted.
  • Ability to stand on feet at least 5 or more hours per day.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year experience working in a warehouse environment (shipping, receiving, inventory management, records management, general housekeeping).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience operating various types of hand and power equipment used to move, load, and unload truck and pallets.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
  • Experience driving and maintaining a 2.5 ton (26,000 GVWR) delivery truck.
  • Current CDL License
  • Experience Working with the PSW Pitney Bowes Shipping System
  • Experience with the PSW Inventory System

Physical Requirements

Very Heavy: Requires moving and transporting objects in excess of 100 pounds with frequent moving and transporting objects such as 50 pound bags. This job also may require positioning self to move to a significant degree across rough terrain, under objects or into small spaces, or may involve maintaining a stationary position for extended periods. This job will require strenuous manual labor.
