Overview

Provide leadership amongst the Booth Brown House team to ensure that program outcomes are being met and that services are being delivered in accordance with BBH's philosophy of care. Ensure that all grant and license compliance issues are meeting or exceeding requirements. Directly supervise Booth Brown House Case Management and Youth Advocate staff and help guide the overall direction of the agency.Serve as a role model for staff and represent the agency in the professional community.

Responsibilities

Support the Mission of The Salvation Army by treating every donor, contact and colleague appropriately and without discrimination of any kind.Personnel Supervise Case Managers and Youth Advocates and ensure they are creating individualized case plans with youth and parties relevant to the case. Ensure these case plans are youth centered and meet the requirements of Government grant guidelines and best practices. Assist Case Managers, as needed, with complex client cases. Recruit, train, and oversee the daily operations of Case Managers and Youth Advocates Supervise Service Coordinator and submit position related reports. Plan, implement, and supervise staff development/in-service training programs and staff meetings in conjunction with Program Director, and Assistant Program Director Handle personnel issues in consultation with the Program Director as needed. Conduct yearly performance reviews. Lead case consultation meetings and participate in staff meetings.Compliance Ensure all program components and client records are in accordance with MN's transitional living program certification, agency policies, and all other government contracts. Oversee and maintain client data reports, including but not limited, to HMIS, RHYMIS, HOME, LTH, income verification, The Salvation Army's statistics, etc. Utilizing BBH's Philosophy of Care address client behavioral issues and advise or proceed with terminations of tenancy or issue lease violations as appropriate. Assist operations in screening, interviewing, and selecting new applicants for the housing program. Oversee and develop BBH's marketing plan to inform potential candidates and community members about program openings Assist with move-in inspections and orientation of new residents as needed. Review of Ramsey County Rosters and ensure daily budget goals are being met. Administer Foyer GRH benefits to Foyer clients and ensure BBH is utilizing GRH funding opportunities to fullest extent. Monitor HMIS data entry Approve Budget Requests from Case ManagersProgram Development Work with the Program Director to make recommendations on budget development. Assist Program Director to ensure that all written polices/procedures are in compliance with all Government and funder requirements. In conjunction with the Program Director, develop strategic plans and innovative solutions to challenges facing BBH. Assist with researching and developing new positions and programs as necessary to meet the needs of our population. Responsible to stay abreast of best practices and issues related to homelessness and housing issues, assist in establishing program goals and compliance based on this information. Develop and implement policies and procedures that support the mission of Booth Brown House. Participate in Coordinated Entry and assure staff are trained in procedures. This includes assessments for shelter guests and working with Assistant Program Director on incoming housing referrals.General Represent Booth Brown House in the professional community and maintain working relationships with community members and service providers. Understand and be able to explain program, philosophy, goals and objectives. Role model and ensure that the highest quality of care is being given to youth accessing Booth Brown House. Assist the Program Director with guidance and leadership of the overall program. Participate in fund raising activities as needed. Keep Program Director well informed of any pending issues and potential problems in the housing program. Communicate with others in an engaging and understandable manner, both through verbal and non-verbal means. Utilize strong self-management skills to effectively complete tasks as necessary. As needed assist with the oversight of daily program operations and when necessary assist with direct service coverage. Adhere to Booth Brown House's Philosophy of Care and work consistently to embrace The Salvation Army/Booth Brown House's mission, vision and values. Treat every client and colleague with individual respect and dignity, and without discrimination of any kind. Supervise volunteers and interns. Assist on Call staff during Crisis

Other duties as reasonably required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a BA in one of the Behavioral Sciences, plus three years experience in residential care, counseling youth, or supervisory experience (or any combination of the above). Training in developmental processes and needs, youth services, disability services, eligibility for and procedures of Federal/State/County entitlement programs, drug and alcohol use and abuse by the youth, and mental health issues. Two to Three years experience in social service delivery with youth and youth with disabilities. Supervisory experience is preferred. Demonstrated leadership experience. Demonstrated working knowledge of supportive services and other resources for youth and youth with disabilities in the area served by the project. Demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve and provide results for youth and co-workers. Ability to accept supervision and work with a team of co-workers. Ability to work well with clients and co-workers of diverse cultural and socioeconomic groups, respect confidentiality, to be able to work within ethical and legal parameters of social services. Willingness to support the philosophy, goals, mission, and objectives of The Salvation Army. Must pass the background checks and meet MVR driver's qualifications. Must possess valid driver's license.It must be understood by the incumbent that the provisions of Safe From Harm will apply upon commencement of employment and also understood that the required Safe From Harm training be satisfactorily completed within the first thirty (30) days of employment
