SUMMARY

Working with general supervision, the Graphic Designer is responsible for the design, layout, and production of Game Informer editorial pages in print and digital formats, as well as the design and production of web, marketing, corporate branding, and social media materials. Associate may interact with his or her supervisor several times a week, perhaps daily, to receive guidance and feedback. Associate has a passion for creating engaging, thoughtful design that elevates all Game Informer-related content and branded material. This individual is creative and resourceful, leveraging their skillset and resources to meet the diverse design needs of Game Informer's many customer touchpoints.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

• Implement and execute creative solutions in print and digital environments with a specific emphasis on the design and production of editorial content, marketing materials, and corporate branding assets as needed
• Updating existing creative files
• Ability to handle both the design and production aspects of the creative process, from start to finish
• Maintain consistency and accuracy throughout the creative process
• Produce high quality design work under sometimes tight deadlines, sometimes with minimal supervision
• Maintain a keen understanding and current knowledge of design trends with regards to typography, layout design, web design, composition, color, etc.
• Model the high level of customer service expected of all GameStop associates including, but not limited to, responding to voice mails and emails within organizationally defined timeframes, completing projects as committed, responding to others' feedback appropriately, and making optimal use of organizationally limited resources by offering assistance to other functional teams when appropriate
• Model team commitment by adhering to the team's expectations and guidelines; fulfilling team responsibilities; and demonstrating personal commitment to the team by being cooperative, collaborative, and flexible
• Responsible for adhering consistently with all employment policies as stated in the employee handbook provided or as provided by his or her supervisor

BASIC AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE)

• Graduation from an accredited technical school program in graphic design or similar field or a Bachelor's degree from an accredited program in art, graphic design, or related field required. At least two years of related experience may be considered in substitution.
• At least 1 year of graphic design work experience preferred
• At least 1 year of web design work experience preferred
• Publications experience and digital content experience preferred
• Animation design experience a plus
• Working knowledge of video games and gaming industry preferred
• Portfolio demonstrating previous design work required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, JOB SKILLS, ABILITIES

• Highly proficient with Mac OS, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Cloud; specifically, Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
• Have an operational knowledge of font usage, file management, and print & digital production
• Exceptional eye for detail and ability to work alone and as part of a team
• Ability to take direction and be flexible and open to change
• Awareness and passion for current and future design trends
• Demonstrated proficient sense of design theory, with special attention paid to color and typography
• Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing priorities with promptness, efficiency and ease that may require overtime
• Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others including the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback to team members
• A desire to improve skillset over time to further the capabilities of the team and product
• Possess proficient analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
• Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
• Consistently demonstrates a commitment to GameStop policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest, and ethical responsibilities
