OVERVIEW

The Department of Chemistry at the University of St. Thomas (MN) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track teaching position at the rank of Visiting Faculty. The appointment is for the 2021-2022 academic year and is not renewable.

The successful candidate will teach a combination of 6-7 lecture and laboratory courses, primarily in the area of General Chemistry. In addition to teaching, faculty are expected to participate in service to the department, which may include curricular development, General Chemistry program coordination assistance, and curricular assessment. It is essential that the candidate has a strong commitment to teaching and should also have strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Preference will be given to candidates with prior General Chemistry teaching experience and the ability to also contribute to our Inorganic Chemistry courses and labs.

The University of St. Thomas Chemistry Department is ACS-accredited, consisting of thirteen full-time faculty plus support staff working exclusively with undergraduates. The department is professionally-engaged, well-equipped with modern instrumentation and committed to active undergraduate research.

QUALIFICATIONS

A Ph.D. in Chemistry is preferred; however, ABD will be considered.
