Are you passionate about technology? Do you enjoy helping people learn new design technologies while working in a fast-paced and challenging environment? If so, then we have an exciting new opportunity available for you to join our team as the Design Technology Manager.

Our employee-owned and multi-disciplined team of engineering and design professionals is looking for a BIM technology expert who will collaborate with high-end BIM/CAD users throughout the firm to develop, maintain, and continuously evaluate our BIM, CAD, and Reality Capture standards, technologies, and user capabilities. In this role, you would be responsible for establishing quality control workflows to ensure procedures and standards are applied accurately and consistently and to improve productivity and efficiency of project set-up and overall deliverables. In addition, you would be responsible for documenting procedures and developing training resources for all current and future design applications.

As a member of our I.T. team, you would be responsible for managing design software products including incorporating / installing new version releases, implementing customized features or functionalities, and providing tech support to users by assisting with application troubleshooting and performance tuning as needed.

For this opportunity we are seeking candidates who reside within 100 miles of Saint Paul, MN and who have the ability to travel TKDA office locations as requested. Remote accommodations and flexible schedules will be strongly considered for self-starter and self-sufficient professionals who have demonstrated their ability to work successfully in a remote work environment.

Required Qualifications.

  • Associates degree in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Ten or more years of experience as a direct user of Autodesk applications (AutoCAD, Revit, Map3D, Civil3D, & Recap).
  • Prior user experience with Bentley designer applications (Microstation, GeoPak, ProjectWise, & Open products).
  • Prior user experience with Reality Capture technologies such as 3D scanning & PointClouds, LiDAR, Photogrammetry, VR/AR, and 360 Photo Capture.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills demonstrated by a positive and helpful demeanor.
  • Ability to communicate technical information, both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of end-users.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and lead highly technical process solutions.
  • Ability to work independently or within the team setting.
  • Must be a self-starter and shown ability to lead.

Preferred Qualifications.

  • Prior experience developing, managing, and leading the implementation process of BIM and/or CAD standards.
  • Must be a self-starter and shown ability to lead.
  • Prior experience working with ProjectWise or other document management applications.
  • Prior experience with point cloud registration and processing, alignment of scan data with BIM, and QA/QC of scans and working knowledge of Leica BLK360 laser scanner.
  • Familiarity with drone capturing process and workflow and prior experience with Pix4D, ArcGIS, and other LiDAR and Photogrammetry applications.
  • Prior experience operating Ricoh Theta V or other 360 degree camera and processing applications such as Matterport.
  • Prior user experience with Enscape, Lumion3D, Sketchup, Augin and other 3D visualization design applications in use with Oculus Rift.
