Primary Job Purpose: The Retail Sales Associate is the first point of contact for The House Bike Shop & Ski customers and with that are empowered to own the customer experience. Associates are expected to be readily available to provide best in class customer service on a wide variety of topics from assisting with orders, troubleshooting complex bicycle technical issues, creating product returns and credits, and answering questions about the many items we stock. Job Tasks, Responsibilities, Accountabilities: Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by being knowledgeable on all products offered, and teaming up with co-workers to provide excellent sales service Delivering sales, outstanding customer experience, and operational expectations Maintaining personal and productivity goals Connects with every customer by asking open-ended questions to assess needs Ability to learn and share expertise of products and trends to fit customer's needs Maintains an awareness of all product knowledge, and current or upcoming product / trends Contributes to a positive and inclusive work environment What you need to succeed: A minimum of one year retail experience, and/or a high technical knowledge of bicycles, bicycle components and cross country skis Ability to communicate, both written and verbally, in a clear and professional manner Ability to work independently in a fast paced, high volume environment, working within and meeting deadlines High proficiency using PC/MAC computers, ability to multitask in multiple programs on multiple computer monitors, typing skills are a necessity Ability to work in an environment with significant time spent on the phone and computer This position may occasionally require overtime hours Experience/Requirements: Retail Sales: 1 year (Bicycle Sales Preferred, but not required) Confident and comfortable engaging customers to deliver an elevated experience Motivated to achieve great results because of one's enthusiasm from interacting with customers and outdoor products Initiates completion of tasks or activities without necessary supervision We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
