Job Description:

Nextern is hiring for the role of Quality Technician. This roles comes with competitive pay and a full benefits package (details below) The Quality Technician will be responsible for various complex duties classified as moderate inclusive of calibration, maintenance and repairs of tools and equipment in line with established procedures. Selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment. Receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and technical advice from supervisor or engineer. This position may also involve quality assurance of product conformance for dimensional, electrical, and visual workmanship standards in accordance with customer requirements. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Document calibration process and prepare reports, as required. Perform calibration (if needed) and approve products and accessories that meet tolerances and product specifications. Manage repair and calibration of assessment tools and measurement of equipment inclusive of general purpose. Administer all calibration methods and procedures. Manage workload to achieve production schedules and ensure completion within timeframe. Coordinate with production and engineering departments for internal and external customers. Prepare all documentation applicable for various assignments Monitor and complete all business tasks within timeframe and ensure optimal quality. Develop all reports and certificates pertaining to calibration. Perform inspection and calibrate all tooling equipment with help of electronic and pressure equipment and ensure accuracy. Maintain control and traceability related to tooling inside shop and outside vendors. Assist various departments to resolve and repair of equipment which determine precision. Gather and document the data records related to calibration. Works with measurement tools to ensure product is to standard before it is released. Provides the Quality group with technical support as required. May write technical reports, records of standards and rejections and other required quality documentation. Sets up and runs experiments and/or tests apparatus with direction. Troubleshoots. May repair, modify, and/or maintain systems and/or equipment. Provides input in evaluation of equipment and processes. Demonstrates safe work habits, maintains clean and safe work area. Willingness to provide and receive constructive input and feedback. Working knowledge of quality control standards and testing techniques. Knowledge of Quality Systems, FDA regulations, ISO 13485 and applicable worldwide regulatory requirements. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to write technical reports. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and engineering drawings that are in English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers and managers. Ability to write detailed reports and other technical documents. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. COMPUTER SKILLS:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook).
