functions. Perform hands-on manufacturing of assigned materials and
assemblies produced by Aerospace Fabrication and Materials (AFM)
including the following: Sew or tape MLI Blankets, Protective
Covers or other AFM assemblies, hand combine materials,
roll-to-roll combine materials Interface with manufacturing,
quality, engineering personnel on material status and production
planning issues Read and accurately interpret customer provided
drawings, templates, and specifications Inspect materials and
assemblies Complete all quality documentation associated with AFM’s
manufacturing process Interface with manufacturing personnel on
material status and production planning issues Clean assemblies
Package materials and assemblies Maintain and control material
traceability Maintain and clean AFM equipment Promote and ensure a
clean and safe work environment adhering to Company and
governmental policies and regulations Maintain regular, dependable
attendance Will be required to perform other duties as requested,
directed or assigned. Requirements: The requirements listed below

Education / Experience: High School Diploma or general education
degree (GED) required Experience in a manufacturing environment is
preferred, but not required. Experience in manufacturing drawing
reading is preferred, but not required. Sewing experience is
preferred, but not required. Quality/Inspection experience is
preferred, but not required. Language Skills and Interpersonal
Communication: Must be able to speak, read, write and understand
English well enough to effectively communicate with fellow
employees, customers and vendors. Ability to read and interpret
documents including, but not limited to safety rules, operating and
maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical
Ability: Individual must have the following, Ability to add and
subtract three digit numbers, multiply and divide by up to 1000’s.
Ability to convert numbers, round in all units of measure, use
whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals preferred. Ability to
accurately measure using a ruler and a tape measure required.
Reasoning Ability: Individual must have the following, Ability to
apply knowledge learned through training to thoroughly understand
how to read and interpret AFM and customer drawings and templates.
Ability to compare, inspect, and judge whether project matches
required specifications. Ability to apply knowledge learned through
training of AFM manufacturing processes. Ability to learn to
operate any AFM equipment. Special Qualifications: Ability to take

training not listed may be required as needed. Physical Demands The
physical demands described here are representative of those that
must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential
functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the
employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands
and/or feet in a repetitive manner, push and pull materials, use
head and neck to frequently look down, and simple/light grasping.
The employee is occasionally required to twist, kneel, balance,
grasp firmly, and use fine finger dexterity. The employee must
frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lifts
and/or moves up to 50 pounds, using the assistance from another as
required if lifting over 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities
required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Personal Protective
Equipment Employees at times are required to wear a bonnet, smock,
booties, veil, beard guard, and cleanroom gloves while in the
cleanroom. Occasional use of safety glasses may be required while
using chemicals such as adhesives, solvents, compressed air and
other eye safety issues. Occasional use of a particular respirator
mask may be required. Occasional use of Tyvek apron, gloves or arm
covers while using specific fabrics. Work Environment The work
environment characteristics described here are representative of
those an employee encounters while performing the essential
functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the
employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts on the
cutting and sewing machines. The noise level in the work
environment is usually normal.
