Position Description:
Sr. Software Engineer for Medtronic, Inc. located in Mounds View,
MN. Responsible for software delivery as part of an agile
development group. Conduct design and code reviews to ensure code
developed meets or exceeds coding best practices guidelines, unit
testing, security, and scalability and maintainability guidelines.
Analyze and provide resolutions for Corrective and Preventative
Actions (CAPAs), Released Product Investigations, critical
problems, and field issues. Utilize Software Development Life Cycle
(SDLC) including requirement gathering, defining technical
specifications, analysis, design, development, testing, integration
and implementation of systems applications. Responsible for the
design and develop of high integrity software, and industry
software standards, and review product design changes. Coordinate
with product owner and scrum master to complete sprint planning,
actively participate in scrum ceremonies and deliver results each
sprint. Design, build, and test applications, distributed
computing, and high-performance computing. Leverage 'Big Data'
technologies to include Kafka, Elastic, Hortonworks stack, and
NOSQL databases such as HBase. Program and test development
utilizing Python, Scala, Spark or closely related languages.
Leverage software development technologies including REST APIs,
mlflow, Swagger and Postman. Utilize version control systems with
Git to include BitBucket and Azure DevOps and monitoring tools to
include Splunk, and Power Bi. Position works a hybrid model and
will be onsite in Mounds View, MN - 1 day per week. Relocation

Basic Qualifications:
Requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer
Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Chemical
Engineering or related engineering field and 5 years of experience
as a software engineer or related occupation; or alternatively a
Masters' Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer
Engineering, Software Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related
engineering field, and 2 years of experience as a software engineer
or related occupation. Must possess a minimum of 2 years of
experience with each of the following: full SDLC activities;
reviewing product design changes; collaboration with scrum team for
Agile product development; design, build, and test applications and
distributed computing; Kafka, Elastic, Hortonworks stack, and
HBase; Python and Spark or Scala; REST APIs, mlflow, and Swagger
and Postman; and BitBucket, Azure DevOps, Splunk, and Power BI.
