Hiring Salary Range: $65,000-$80,000 DOQThe candidate that fills this position will work collaboratively with the Academic Support Resources (ASR) Application Development team and diverse stakeholders in the University community to build software systems in support of ASR's mission "to make a positive difference in students' lives."The Academic Support Resources (ASR) Application Development team is a small, dynamic group of developers that values:

Well-tested software and test-driven equipment Choosing the right tool for the job; polyglot programming Working with customers to understand underlying problems and working collaboratively to come up with creative, cost-effective solutions; not just implementing what we're asked to Team ownership of code and moving together as a team on projects; not one-developer-per-project Professional development and continuous learningAcademic Support Resources supports hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Work arrangements are determined in coordination with supervisors depending on the nature of the unit and position. The arrangement for this position will be determined upon hire between employee and supervisor.Software Engineering and Programming (60%)
Design, develop, maintain web applications and web sites for ASR units and ASR partners primarily with Ruby on Rails. Pair programming with other ASR team members to design, test, and develop web applications. Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify their business needs and requirements. Improve the team's work through code reviews and retrospectives.Operations Support (30%)
Configure and customize servers. Research application performance. Develop Integration and Testing automation. Resolve questions and problems reported by users.Professional Development (10%)
Stay current on technology developments relevant to web and database concepts and services. Participate in related University groups (e.g. Code People, DevOps, Web Standards). Enhance professional growth and development through participation in continuing education courses, professional organizations, seminars and workshops, and reading current literature.

Qualifications





REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/BS degree with two years of work experience,or a master's degree. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience working with and engaging stakeholders. Experience interpreting business needs and translating them into actionable requirements. Experience collaborating across diverse groups, including business representatives and executives. Experience developing, training, and mentoring peers.

The mission of Academic Support Resources (ASR) is to make a positive difference in students' lives. ASR provides significant support to each campus in the UMN system and values their collaboration to improve the student experience.
