Position OverviewThis is a temporary, part-time position expected
to last through May 2023 with the possibility of extension based on
satisfactory performance and need. Work will be conducted remotely.
This position will be scheduled up to 14 hours per week, depending
on applicant preference.Job ResponsibilitiesThis position will be
responsible for replicating an existing web-based application. The
existing application is a login-based portal for capturing project
requests from users, and routing them to other users for approval.
The backend of the portal is a MySQL database.Using the current
portal as a guide and with input from the original developer, this
position will replicate the current application using the .NET
framework. Briefly, the individual in this position will be
expected to complete the following:
Qualifications
* At least 2 years of experience writing clean scalable code with
.NET/C#
* Backend programming experience with MySQL database or SQL
server
* Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio
* Demonstrated ability to work well independently
* Demonstrated excellent organization skills
About the Department
The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the
University of Minnesota was created more than 50 years ago in
response to a legislative mandate to train primary care physicians.
Since then, we have been leaders in transforming the specialty
through education, research, and patient care. We are the academic
sponsor of seven family medicine residencies-five in the Twin
Cities, three[two] in Greater Minnesota. We are involved in medical
student education activities across the Medical School's two
campuses: Twin Cities and Duluth. We sponsor five fellowship
programs-sports medicine, hospice and palliative medicine,
behavioral medicine, clinical informatics, and human sexuality- and
offer continuing medical education opportunities. We are regularly
among the top National Institutes of Health-funded family medicine
