Job Description:
This position will drive the implementation of new solutions in
the areas of Network Performance Monitoring(NPM), Capacity
Planning, Regulatory and FCC Compliance at Frontier Communications.
The primary responsibility for this position will be to serve as an
engineer in the design and development of systems for Network
Performance Metrics Measurement and Reporting system. Database and
web-based application development using Java, JavaScript, Node.Js,
SOAP and REST services, PHP, Python, MySQL, NoSQL, and Oracle. The
ideal candidate must have knowledge of all aspects of the entire
Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Some knowledge of embedded
systems, real-time OS is also required. Experience working with
DevOps environment and working with Agile teams (SCRUM, Kanban) is
a big plus.The person will be required to collaborate with several
teams including vendors, regional engineers, and planning groups to
understand business requirements and provide fitting solutions
resolving business needs in Network Performance Monitoring. Must be
well organized, self-motivated, and have strong communication
skills. The person will be expected to develop the documentation,
propose action items, and present ideas to the supervisor and other
teams given high-level direction. Lead and organize meetings with
clear agenda items.Reporting to the Director, this person will be
required to work as a team player in the NPM group sharing
knowledge, training, and best practices with team members. This
person will also be required to engage with senior management and
Vendors to discuss future roadmaps, systems, and data requirements,
statements of work, and other confidential
information.ResponsibilitiesEngineer Systems and Applications
solutions that drive Frontier to become more efficient, consistent
and accurate. Build new enhancements to the Frontier's Performance
Metrics Measurement and Reporting platform DECIMA. Help contribute
new ideas and their implementation towards building and expanding
interfaces with other Frontier BSS and OOS systems and applications
such as TRIAD, NMARS, BSA, etc. enabling other systems to be
leveraged for strategic purposes where not already
available.Engineer documentation for application and its
interfaces. Write technical documents, specifications and use cases
for existing and new applications.Requirements3 years of relevant
software engineering experience. Must have knowledge of all aspects
of the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).Hands-on
experience with coding in one of the languages
C/C++/python/C#/Java, Experience writing SQLExperience with Git, or
comparable distributed version control systemExperience with
Angular, React, or an equivalent web framework and creating REST
APIsExperience with using DevOps and CI/CD, Docker/Kubernetes and
other toolsExperience working on Network management protocols -
SNMP, TR-169, Netconf and others is a big plusExperience working on
embedded system software - embedded/real-time OS, Linux is a big
plusExperience working on telecom network device software/firmware
- Switches, Routers, Gateways and handling network performance
metrics - speed, latency, throughput, jitter etc. is a big
plusExperience working with Agile teams (SCRUM, Kanban) is a big
plusExperience working on projects implementing compliance to FCC
requirements is a big plusIt also requires strong verbal and
written communication skills and proven ability to interact with
all levels of the organization.Demonstrated hands-on experience in
the analysis, design, implementation, deployment, training, and
support of a variety of large and complex projectsProficient in
medium-high level functions within Microsoft applications (i.E.
pivot tables, formulas, look-up tables, macros)Experience working
cross functionally with Business and Technical teams.Ability to
work independently and in teams, prioritizing multiple projects,
issues and tasks with minimal directionAbility to interface
knowledgeably and effectively with individuals and teams from
across all functions in the companyMaintain professional and
technical knowledge by leveraging on-line technical resources,
attending conferences, establishing personal and professional
relationships, attending formal training classes, and pursuing
certifications where appropriate.Some travel may be required.The
ideal candidate would also have Telecommunications network
background, more than 3 years of relevant experience, and technical
degree. Strong analytics and development skills.Bachelor's or
master's Degrees in Computer Science, IT, IS or EngineeringNew
