Senior System AdministratorWill need to work in the office three days a week and other two days can be remotePosition Summary The Senior Systems Administration is responsible for managing and administering the information systems and associated security - which includes the IT infrastructure, the applications infrastructure, and the IT tools used by the business. This role works with end-users and leadership to maintain the efficient and effective utilization of the established systems. Additionally, this role will work with vendors and others in IT and as a stakeholder in the planning and execution of changes to the systems. Experience in vendor management - along with effective project management and business analyst skills - will allow this role to be successful.The environment provides a unique opportunity for the right individual - someone who has experience and competencies in managing and administering a hybrid infrastructure inclusive of on-premises networking integrated with cloud-based Microsoft 365, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Azure. This role will have latitude and independence in their work and is expected to collaborate closely with organizational leadership to achieve strategic business objectives. This position will apply strong business acumen, communication skills, and relationship building combined with strong analytical and planning skills to work with a wide range of groups and functions across the company.Five Key Accountabilities --- Manage, develop, and maintain the IT infrastructure - including application infrastructure--- Manage the Service Desk--- Oversee IT infrastructure security--- Promote and enforce IT system and change control processes--- Coaches end users on systems functions and promotes system adoptionDuties and Responsibilities Manage, develop, and maintain the IT infrastructure - including application infrastructure--- Become a subject matter expert on functions, technology, and how the IT infrastructure supports the organization's mission, purpose, and processes.--- Collaborate with key stakeholders by employing a proactive and consultative approach to systems administration functions for all company systems including the Dynamics 365 platform and applications--- Maintains relationships, agreements, and expectations with Managed Services Provider (MSP) vendors and vendor partners to stay current with needed and available functionality and maintain warranty and configuration management inventory.--- Establish a communication plan, including moderating internal meetings, stakeholder status updates, and other communications as required to maintain the systems administration service levels.--- Provides regular upgrade planning, support, and project/technical leadership to keep the systems and technology current.--- Supports and monitors all systems on a day-to-day basis - involving the vendor support function as appropriate.Manage the Service Desk--- Gather regular feedback from the organization stakeholders on the effectiveness and operation of the Service Desk - making recommendations for enhancements, improvements, and changes.--- Collaborate with MSP, consultants, contractors, and vendors to optimize Service Desk performance including understanding, coordinating, and implementing changes as required.--- Determine scope and priority - working with the company leadership - on issues, requests, and enhancements.Oversee IT infrastructure security--- Work with the organization's Security Operations Center to protect the organization network, information, and computers systems from cyber threats, theft, damage, and operation disruption.--- Collaborate with company leadership to develop and support organizational security standards, best practices, preventative measures, and business continuity/disaster recovery (BC/DR) plans.--- Coordinate the implementation, maintenance, and testing of all technical aspects of the organization's BC/DR plans - including system and information backups and failover strategies.--- Continually be mindful of ways to maintain and enhance the security posture of the organization bringing identified gaps and resolution options to the attention of department leadership.--- Actively participate on the organization's Security Steering Committee.Promote and enforce IT system and change control processes--- Develop, utilize, and enforce change control processes throughout the management of the company systems by proactively monitoring and controlling changes in scope and gaining approval/resolution of changes among all key internal and external stakeholders.--- Champion other IT governance, policies, and procedures in the day-to-day management and long-term planning of the IT infrastructure.--- Build effective relationships between IT and the departments to develop a joint vision for support of the systems.--- Work together with other IT staff members and other appropriate departments to ensure that needs have been met.Training/Adoption--- Provide and maintain system and process training for end users - to ensure that the capabilities of the systems are utilized effectively.--- Ensure the process and automation adoption for the effective and efficient use of the system to support the organization mission.--- Maintain expertise in system functionality by working with vendors and proactively seeking training opportunities. Communicate applicable learnings and functions to the required users.--- Engage with the organization's SOC to conduct routine security training activities.--- Develop and maintain system and process documentation.Skills & Knowledge required --- Bachelor's Degree in business, computer science, or related area preferred and a minimum of 5 years of experience in Systems Administration -OR- equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.--- Minimum of 5 years of experience in System Administration--- Expertise in Microsoft 365 tenant administration - including administration and utilization of Azure and peripheral technologies. Preferably 3-5 years of work experience in this area.--- Experience in IT infrastructure support, IT equipment purchasing, managing IT vendors, and MSP service level agreement and contract management--- Experience in Tier 1 & 2 IT infrastructure support--- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with internal and external customers--- Ability to work with people in various departments and at all levels within the company--- Ability to plan, prioritize, organize, and define objectives and manage small- to mid-sized projects--- Attention to detail with ability to work with detailed specifications--- Strong problem-solving skills--- Self-motivated but able to work effective in a team environment.Nice to have:o Experience with Microsoft Dynamics administration - specifically CRM and Business Central.o In depth knowledge of business requirements, design, development and process tools, methods, and best practices.o Familiarity of security frameworks.
