There are over 3,400 employees in the University Services: Capital
Planning and Project Management, Public Safety, Facilities
Management, University Health and Safety, Auxiliary Services, USIT,
and US Finance.
This position is assigned to all areas to assist with staffing &
compensation and special projects as assigned.
Responsibilities
75% - Workforce Planning and Staffing
* Review job descriptions and provide recommendations for
appropriate qualifications, job codes and facilitate job posting
for all classification levels.
* Create, determine and place job advertisements based on unique
needs of each position on external websites.
* Review and screen resumes, perform phone screening, and recommend
candidates to the selection committee.
* Assists in the development of salary suggestions based on data
gathered through running various internal reports.
* Participates on selection committees for bargaining unit and
Civil Service positions.
* Review staffing needs with multiple department hiring managers
for all student postings and processes.
* Develops and presents demographic reporting to HR Director and HR
Consultants
* Explain to managers the rules, contracts, policies and guidelines
related to specific issues or human resources situations such as
hiring, promotions, etc.
Assist with coordination and planning for departmental attendance
at identified career fairs and events.
25% Other
* Responds to a variety of employee inquiries including
compensation, FMLA, payroll, etc.
Ensures compliance with legal and institutional policies,
guidelines and regulations.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS degree or a combination of education and applicable work
experience to equal 4 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Google Suites, Peoplesoft or
similar program. Experience working as a HR Generalist. Staffing
experience preferred. Experience working with a unionized workforce
is a plus. New grads are welcome and encouraged to apply!
