Position Summary:
With a focus on Learning and Development, performs generalist
duties also including orientation, workers' compensation
administration, policy research, communication of information on
employee programs, coordination of special events, and benefits
administration.

Responsibilities
Leads coordination of learning and development activities across
Horton. Administers Learning Management System, ensuring consistent
practices.
Assesses training needs and secures necessary internal or external
resources to address those needs.
Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts across the organization to
recommend, design, develop, deliver, evaluate, and maintain
creative learning solutions that may include, but are not limited
to, eLearning, video, classroom experiences, assessments,
activities, job aids and blended learning experiences.
Develop and maintain a central repository of training content that
is available and accessible by all employees.
Build and provide ongoing support to a network of internal trainers
by organizing and facilitating 'Train the Trainer' sessions as
needed. Act as a mentor to other internal resources.
Regularly reviews development planning process for process
improvements.
Assist leaders in creation of development plans
Orients new employees by covering company procedures, benefits
enrollment, and verifying correct completion of required forms and
inputs to HRIS and delivers required paperwork to payroll.
Administers the Horton benefits plan. Processes plan enrollment for
all new employees upon eligibility.
Administers and processes change requests for existing
employees.
Explains the features of plans and the extent of options available
to employees at the time of eligibility or enrollment and answers
plan related questions at any time.
Serves as liaison with outside benefits administrators, trustees or
insurance companies, exchanging enrollment or contribution
information and updating the employment status of employees as soon
as there are changes. Intervenes if employees experience problems
with vendors.
Assist employees with FMLA and other leaves.
Administers worker's compensation process.
Completes First Report of Injury form, OSHA 300 log, and OSHA 301
log and enters information in MSDS.
Processes bills by submitting them to the insurance carrier for
payment, providing information necessary for claim processing.
Conducts research on human resources topics under direction from
the VP of HR.
Participate in Compensation Surveys as they become available.
Completes annual EEO1 reporting.
Participates in various company committees, events and coordinates
discount programs for Horton. Participates in the Employee Events
Committee, Wellness Committee, and the United Way Campaign.
Organizes company events such as the annual holiday party.
Performs other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree with human resources or business or
equivalent, with 0-5 years of experience, including HRIS/LMS
experience. Experience with UKGPro HRIS preferred. Note: equivalent
education equals 2 years of closely related experience for 1 year
of education. Level based on years of experience.
Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Relocation allowance may be provided if the individual has all of
the necessary qualifications.
