Job Description:
1. Must possess a strong internal customer focus.
2. The HR/Payroll Coordinator is the primary contact for: A broad
range of administrative support to the Human Resources team in the
areas of payroll, recruiting, benefits, payroll, talent management,
and employee database and record keeping.
3. Processing of employee payrolls, payroll records management, and
all other transactions associated with employee payroll and
benefits.
4. Review and maintain records for quarterly payroll tax reports,
annual W-2's, W-4's, and 1095s.
5. Assist with annual payroll filings and HR audits and survey
requirements.
Reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer/Vice-President of
People & Culture.A. Commitment to Luther Seminary's Mission and

leaders for the Church.
B. Required education and experience:
1. Bachelor's Degree or a combination of three to five years of
human resources and payroll processing experience (If you have
strong payroll experience, development into an HR
Coordinator/Specialist is available for the right candidate).
2. Working knowledge of applicant tracking, onboarding, and human
resources information systems.
3. Advance knowledge of databases, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint), electronic mail, and Google platforms.
C. Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
1. SPHR, PHR, CEBS, CPP, etc. is a plus.
2. Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while
maintaining a high level of professionalism and absolute
confidentiality at all times.
3. Ability to maintain a high level of clear verbal and written
communication.
4. Must have an excellent track record of attendance and
reliability.
5. Ability to type 50 words per minute with a high degree of
accuracy.
6. Ability to proofread with accuracy and have a high level of
proficiency with the English language.
7. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
with people in various situations.
8. Ability to organize a complex flow of work and handle detailed
systems with competence, consistency, and timeliness.
9. Previous experience in higher education is a plus.
10. Preferable familiarity with Higher Ed, Seminaries, and/or
