Mayo Clinic, a leader in medical care, research, and education, is seeking a dedicated Health Unit Coordinator/Patient Care Assistant to join our compassionate team. This role combines administrative duties with direct patient care, supporting our commitment to provide expert, whole-person care. The ideal candidate will efficiently coordinate health unit activities and patient services while also assisting in basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff. Manage daily operations of the health unit, including scheduling, patient records, and communication with medical staff. Provide direct patient care including vitals, patient preparation, and assisting with daily activities. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety standards. Assist in the implementation of patient care plans. Facilitate communication between patients, family members, and medical personnel. Maintain accurate documentation of patient data and unit activity. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using medical software and patient management systems. Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Basic understanding of medical terminology and healthcare practices. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification preferred. BLS Certification required within first 30 days of employment.
