Job Description:
Mayo Clinic, a global leader in healthcare services, seeks a
dedicated Patient Care Assistant to join our team in providing
skilled, compassionate care to our patients. This position plays a
crucial role in our integrated approach to healthcare, which
combines clinical practice, education, and research to offer a
fully rounded service to those we serve. As a Patient Care
Assistant, you will support our nursing staff in daily care
activities, ensuring patient comfort, and promoting a safe and
healing environment. Your role is vital in helping us deliver
expert, whole-person care to every individual who comes through our
doors. Assist nursing personnel with a variety of patient care
activities and related services necessary in caring for the
personal needs, comfort, and safety of patients. Perform duties
such as feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, and moving patients,
as well as changing linens. Take and record vital signs, including
blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, and
report any significant changes to the nursing staff. Assist with
patient transportation to and from various departments. Maintain
patient hygiene and ensure a clean and orderly environment. Support
the healthcare team in the implementation of patient treatment
plans. Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to
work effectively in a team Physical stamina and the ability to
assist patients with mobility and positioning Basic knowledge of
hygiene and infection control protocols Attention to detail and
empathy Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life
Insurance 401k Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred Basic
Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within
the first three months of employment.
