your future. Responsibilities The position involves evaluating the
commercial potential of a variety of medical inventions and
discoveries coming from Mayos clinical and research activities,
developing and implementing technology sales and marketing plans,
managing the patent process, identifying potential commercial
partners, negotiating license agreements and other
commercialization arrangements, managing relationships with
industry and advising Mayo physicians and scientists regarding
protection of intellectual property and technology-based business
matters. Qualifications Requires a bachelors degree with a strong
science background. Masters degree in business, science or related
field preferred. A minimum of 6 years experience of technology
licensing, business development, scientific education/training
and/or patenting required Demonstrated skills in technical sales,
evaluation of medical technologies, negotiations, contract
drafting, evaluation of scientific and commercialization potential
of cutting-edge technologies and handling of complex inter and
intra-organizational issues are required. Strong interpersonal,
verbal and written communication skills required. Knowledge of
science, business principles, laws and regulations that relate to
the patenting and licensing of inventions is necessary. Ability to
interact creatively and harmoniously with co-workers in a team
setting. Supervisory skills or experience is helpful.
