Overview:The Infection Prevention Nurse - Registered Nurse will bring their expert knowledge of Infection prevention information that is shared, audited and sustained at our new Ebenezer Skilled and Rehab Care facility in downton St Paul, MN. This RN nursing position will oversee data collection that is continuously applied to improving standard process and quality care delivered to skilled nursing residents. The Hub brings Fairview services together with local organizationsincluding Minnesota Community Care and Sanneh Foundationto make it easier for people to access what they need to be well.Responsibilities/Job Description:Manage infection control in facilityTrack resident infectionsOversee and Track employee illnessesOversee and ensure resident and employee infection control logs are up to dateWork with Corporate support nurse for most recent policies and procedures around infection control and antibiotic stewardshipTrack and update resident immunization logsResponsible for Antibiotic stewardship and sustainabilityAssists with training and staff in Infection Control PracticesAssists with audits and data collectionCollaborates with appropriate departments for accurate resident and employee dataResponsible for the prevention and the spread of infection by identifying and controlling outbreaks through plan of careDetermines facility precautions to prevent cross contaminationWorks with other departments to promote and monitor infection control practices by educating staff on policies and proceduresMonitors for any patternsImplements immediate interventions and educationResponsible for reporting infections to MDH as appropriateOversee the Antibiotic Stewardship ProgramDirects Monthly/Quarterly Antibiotic Stewardship meetingsReviews completed 'Timeout' forms and ensures completion and appropriate interventionsEducates Facility staff and Medical practitioners on Antibiotic Stewardship as neededStay current regarding long term care trends and state/federal regulationsAttend outside seminars focusing on current long-term care issues and regulationsRead trade magazines/web sites to stay currentCommunicate new information to nursing staffStays current with the latest COVID informationQualifications:Required:Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree - RNOne to Three Years as an RN ; RequiredRN Licensure/Registered with the MN Board of NursingCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Provider from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross; accepted certifications as follows -AHA: BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program or BLS Provider - BLS Instructor.
