Overview
Are you curious about clinical research? Fairview Health Services Clinical Trials Office is looking for a Research Nurse . This is an 80 hours per 2 weeks on the Day shift, for 8-hour shifts, and is eligible for full benefits. While St. John's in Maplewood, MN is our main location, we also provide Research Nurse coverage a Fairview Southdale Hospital and the Cardiology Clinic. Our program is expanding! Coverage at two active centers provides opportunities for a much wider and more diverse population to participate in clinical trials than any other time in our history! Responsibilities
The Research Nurse supports trial implementation in a variety of clinical settings including ambulatory clinic, inpatient areas, and procedure areas. They build partnerships with Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, and our Recruitment team! With Physicians and APPs, the nurse coordinates trial visits, including providing needed resources and trial details on an enduring basis throughout the trial. With Recruitment, the nursedevelops tools that help recruiters screen potential participants. This includes a thorough understanding of the trial criteria for participation, the disease under study and our local population, the fit with current research portfolio, and any external resources that may be needed.
In this research role, the nurse will:



  • Conduct a detailed analysis of study protocol to support budget/contract


  • Create study-specific tools in the EMR-Epic and materials for protocol implementation


  • Collaborate with team members in preparing regulatory documents, including IRB application, informed consent, and recruiting materials


  • Educate internal and external parties about new studies, providing guidance in understanding and implementing study protocols


  • Participate in site initiation and sponsor study initiation meetings


  • Conduct the informed consent process with potential research subjects in accordance with all regulatory, ethical and Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements


    Qualifications
    An Associate degree in Nursing with valid MN RN License and BLS is required for this role, along with at least 2 years' experience in clinical nursing. Preference is for a BSN degree, with research experience, in addition to knowledge of:Cardiology, Diabetes, Acute Care, Critical Care, Cardiovascular lab, and electrophysiology. Certification inClinical Research Coordinator Certification (CCRC) orCertified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) is also preferred.

    Vaccination Update
    As part of our ongoing efforts to protect the wellbeing of our teams and to provide a safe and healthy environment for the patients and communities we serve, all Fairview employees will be required to receive both an annual flu vaccination and the COVID-19 vaccination series. Current employees must have completed both vaccination schedules on or before October 31, 2021.Beginning August 9, 2021, any new hires who are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are required to receive their first dose prior to their start date and their second dose (if receiving Moderna or Pfizer vaccines) within 4 weeks of their start date.
