Job Summary:
The Surgical Data Coordinator and Validator will be responsible for
data curation and quality control for Research Evaluating Vagal
Excitation Anatomical Links (REVEAL), a large NIH-funded
multi-site, international clinical study. The Data Coordinator will
report jointly to the (1) Director and (2) Project Manager of the
REVEAL Data and Analysis Core (DAC), (3) Co-Principal Investigator
for the AICP sepis study. They will be responsible for the
coordination of timely data submission from each participating
clinical and laboratory site and transfers to the central database
housed within the University of Minnesota's secure Data Shelter.
The coordinator will also facilitate data QA/QC of all laboratory
data in collaboration with laboratory scientists.
This job may be remote.
Job Expectations:
* Maintain data transfer timelines for participating sites and
laboratories ("data providers")
* Support the data providers in adhering to study-defined data and
metadata standards.
* Provide some help-desk type support to data providers
* Conduct manual validation of laboratory data in collaboration
with REVEAL's laboratory staff and with guidance from REVEAL's
clinical management team
* Coordinate and monitor the transfer of data to the UMN Data
Shelter using HIPAA-compliant data transfer protocols (e.g., SFTP,
Box)
* Provide support to the DAC leadership to facilitate the
achievement of the Core's goals
* Work on other data and analysis tasks for the REVEAL project or
the DAC Director, as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
* BS/BA in statistics, computer science, mathematics/statistics,
engineering or a similar quantitative field and at least 4 years of
experience working with structured biomedical, pharma, statistics,
finance or other "big data", or an equivalent combination of
relevant education/experience totaling at least 8 years.
* Attention to detail
* Exceptional data management and documentation skills
* Experience managing challenging timelines across multiple
teams
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in
writing
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Docs, and Google
Sheets
* Experience using Box, Dropbox, or other file-sharing
platforms
