Position offers a unique variety of duties as screening mammography
services are provided to clinic, corporate and community locations
within the Twin Cities metro area. Our services provide patients
with access to screening Mammography exams at their local medical
facility with this mobile service.Anticipated Schedule:4 days per
week, one day may include SaturdayWeekly guarantee of
hoursResponsibilities:Screening mammography at clinics, corporate
and community outreach locations within the Twin Cities metro
areaTeam of two mammographers or one mammographer and an assistant
working together on a 26' straight truck equivalent mobile
mammography unit equipped with Hologic 3D mammography
systemMammographers and/or assistants drive the mobile unit to the
screening locationsQualifications:Graduate of an approved 2-year
Radiologic Technology programMust be registered with ARRT, American
Registry of Clinical Radiologic Technologists or Licensed to
perform general radiographic proceduresPrefer 40 hours of training
in mammography. Willing to trainAbility to drive or experience
driving equivalent to 26' straight truck. Willing to trainAbility
to produce quality imaging with limited supervisionMust be able to
interact in responsible, professional and ethical mannerMust be a
minimum of 21 years of ageMust possess valid Class D Drivers'

SCOPE OF WORK: Under the general direction of the Regional
Operations Manager with the clinical supervision of the reading
physician, performs screening mammograms for patients and
transports mobile medical imaging equipment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs ordered examinations in accordance with
accepted standards of practice and protocols of the individual site
reading physician.Maintains technical competency through continued
education and participation in company sponsored training
programs.Completes and signs the Patient Screening form and
reviews/explains the procedure to the patient.Assists patients to
and from the mobile coach/facility. Maintains patient care, comfort
and safety during transport to and from the mobile coach and during
the exam.Provides images to the facility in the desired site
format.Performs equipment quality checks and troubleshoots
problems. Calls for service and notifies all pertinent Team
Members.Transports mobile medical imaging equipment to various
sites along the mobile route in accordance with applicable DOT
rules and regulations and SMS standard operating procedures.If
applicable, assists with the set up and tear down of equipment in
accordance with SMS and/or manufacturers' guidelines.Maintains a
clean environment inside and outside of the mobile
coach/facility.Completes necessary administrative tasks. i.E.: time
reports, billing, QA, etc.Follows quality assurance guidelines and
maintains patient confidentiality.Follows preventative maintenance
guidelines and ensures proper maintenance of all equipment. Works
with vendors and Transportation Team to troubleshoot and resolve
mechanical failures.Cooperates with facility health care
professionals and complies with facility
policies/procedures.Complies with all safety policies and
regulations.Maintains current Licenses in all states in which
services are performed.Trains new Team Members as required and/or
as assigned by the supervisor and/or SMS management.Performs
additional duties as required.POSITION QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION,
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:ARRT(R) required. Initial 40-hour
mammography training, 8 hours of digital mammography, 8 hours of
tomosynthesis training and advanced registration in Mammography,
ARRT(M), preferred.SMS will reimburse candidate if initial
mammography training requirements need to be met and assist with
scheduling candidate for the training courses.Advanced registration
in mammography required within one year of hire.Must maintain ARRT
and continuing education to comply with MQSA requirements.Must
possess an active Permit to Practice where applicable and/or
required.Must possess valid driver's license with good driving
record.WORKING CONDITIONS:Work is primarily performed in mobile
unit with frequent trips outside to transport patients during all
seasons.Exposure to inclement weather from transporting patients to
and from facility to mobile unit.Mobile unit has artificial
lighting, with some daylight from windows or doors.Possible
exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues from working with
patients and performing injections as required.SPECIFIC
REQUIREMENTS:Ability to drive equivalent to 26' straight truck
preferredMust be a minimum of 21 years of age.Must pass DOT
physical and Drug/Alcohol Screening.Must be able to understand and
comply with the applicable DOT rules and regulations.Operating
knowledge of Personal Computers (PC) and medical charting
systems.Capable of a flexible work schedule.Must be able to
interact with customer personnel and SMS Team Members in a
responsible, professional and ethical manner.Must be able to
produce high quality imaging with little supervision.Must be able
to function effectively in a team-oriented environment.Must be
flexible, reliable and demonstrate sound judgment and
initiative.Ability to demonstrate competency in all applicable
areas.Must be willing and able to train and assist other Team
Members.Must be able to safely transport patients with or without
assistance.Responsible for the following and adhering to TJC/SMS
Quality Standards which includes, but is not limited to: CPR,
immunizations, training (SMS and Site Specific), Infection Control,
and Invasive Procedures (if applicable).PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Sits,
stands, and walks intermittently throughout the day.Climbs stairs
to enter mobile unit.Squats or kneels and lifts objects from ground
occasionally.Full extension of arms above head and in front of
body.Frequently lifts weight of up to 10 pounds.Occasionally lifts
weight of up to 48 pounds.Occasionally carries objects weighing up
to 20 pounds.Must be able to push/pull objects with force of up to
25 pounds.Must possess good balance.
