Job Description:
CNA - Resident Assistant
Join the team of health care professionals who provide services to
our residents at The Alton, a memory care residence, and to our
residents at The Wellington, an independent and assisted living
senior residence. Both residences are located in St. Paul's
Highland Park area and are part of StuartCo's own Shepard Park
neighborhood of seven rental lifestyle communities. The location is
easily accessible via I-35E, I-494, Highway 5 and Crosstown 62 --
you can get here from just about anywhere! The members of our
Resident Assistant (CNA) team provide direct care to those in need
of such services.
HIRING BONUS
-- Day or Eve Shifts at The Alton $1,000.00 Hiring bonus with $500
paid on first available pay date following hire date.
Example: If start date is 3/16, $500 paid on 3/31 and $500 paid on
4/15.
-- Overnight Shifts at The Alton $1,500.00 Hiring bonus with
$750.00 paid on the first available pay date following hire
date.
Example: If start date is 3/1, $750 paid on 3/15 and $750 paid on
3/31.
Additional scale for RA's at The Alton
.6 or 24 hours per week they will earn an additional .50 per hour
(3 shifts per week)
.8 or 32 hours per week they will earn an additional .75 per hour
(4 shifts per week)
1.0 or 40 hours per week they will earn an additional 1.00 per hour
(5 shifts per week)
Full Time - Days , Evenings and NOC.
ALL FTE NOC Shifts --- UP to $20 per hour
Essential Responsibilities
Assist resident with ADLs.
Assist resident with transfers and with ambulation, as indicated in
care plan by registered nurse.
Assist resident with prescribed exercises that the resident and
Resident Assistant have been taught by appropriate professional
personnel. Apply prostheses and/or braces as directed.
Assist with medication administration of pre-set medications as
delegated by the Registered Nurse.
Plan meals for resident and assist with eating as needed.
Perform such household services as are detailed on the care plan:
laundry, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, cleaning cupboards and
other surfaces throughout the neighborhoods, and changing bed
linen. Periodically clean wheelchairs.
Assist with escorts to recreation events at the community. At The
Alton and The Wellington Care Suites provide small group or
individual recreation options.
Report to Registered Nurse all significant changes in the
resident's condition or family situation in a timely manner.
Participate in education programs as appropriate and required by
agency policy; keep up to date with mandatory in-service
requirements.
Maintain accurate, timely and complete written documentation for
each resident.
Demonstrate an awareness of and respect for individual resident's
rights and commitment to service excellence.

and customer relationships.
Perform in compliance with all agency policies, procedures and
practices.
Respond timely and appropriately to emergency situations.
Attend required staff meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
MN Nursing Assistant Certification (CNA) and on the MN
Registry.
Familiar with electronic charting systems.
Med passing experience is strongly preferred.
Must have passion and dedication to work in Healthcare and with
seniors.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule with rotating
weekends.
Must be able and willing to work at both The Alton and Wellington
locations.
Exceptional customer service skills.
Excellent time management skills.
Additional Requirements

Must be able to continuously perform tasks such as but not limited

Perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles such
as walking or stooping to perform basic job duties.
Able to walk, stand and squat to perform job duties.
Speak clearly; make yourself understood; articulate with extreme
accuracy in face-to-face conversations while communicating with
patients, family members, co-workers, and supervisor; have the
ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Hear normal sounds and voices while encountering some background
noise and be able to answer phones/communicate with others.
Must be able to frequently perform tasks such as but not limited to
those listed below:
Push and/or pull objects over 10 pounds.
Lift and/or move objects over 25 pounds.
Sit and/or stand for prolonged period.
Clearly see objects closely to read directions, reports, patient
files, and the like.
Must be able to occasionally perform tasks such as but not limited
to those listed below:
Push and/or pull objects weighing over 50 pounds.
Lift and/or move objects weighing over 50 pounds.
Use hands and arms for simple grasping, pushing and pulling to
perform patient care and cleaning responsibilities as needed.
Perform tasks that require steadiness of motion.
Climb stairs, bend to the floor, kneel and twist to perform job
duties.
Mental Requirements (based on essential responsibilities)
Must be able to continuously perform tasks such as but not limited
to those listed below:
Concentrate on detail work while experiencing constant
interruption, with minimal errors resulting.
Ability to perform duties under a variety of stressful and/or
emergency situations.
Attend to task/function for more than 60 minutes at a time.
Equipment
Must be able to operate and use during working shifts as
required:
Telephones and cellular telephones, PC or tablet, iPod, patient
call systems, door alarms, life lines, pagers/walkie-talkies,
oxygen equipment, vital signs apparatus and other medical devices,
including Hoyer lift and EZ stand.
Environment
May be exposed to communicable diseases, infection, airborne and
blood borne pathogens, toxic fumes and cleaning or other
chemicals.
Working Hours
The Resident Assistant will work as scheduled by staffing
personnel. Assignment may change in accordance of staffing needs
and employee skills.
The Resident Assistant will be responsible for using On-Shift.
