The Urgency Room, operated by Emergency Physicians PA, offers a new and better way for patients to receive emergency medical care. We are currently accepting resumes for qualified candidates looking to provide top-quality patient care as a Paramedic on our clinic medical support team at our 3 locations in Minnesota. We provide great care to patients 365 days a year, so our positions include weekends and holidays. Purpose: The Paramedic provides direct patient care utilizing their skill and expertise to complement the other members of the health care team. The Paramedic may take direction from the physician or registered nurse for those areas which require a licensed practitioner. Key Result Areas: The primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: 1. Implement and follow a plan of patient care determined by the clinician 2. Collect and record pertinent data regarding patient needs, such as vital signs, physical assessment, EKGs, phlebotomy, airway management, application of cardiac monitoring, and initializing oxygen therapy asordered or delegated. 3. Administer all technical aspects of the patient s experience or delegate these aspects to include but not limited to: phlebotomy, intravenous cannulas, assistance with sterile procedures, conscious or deepsedation, administration of medications, oxygen therapy, EKGs, and any other technical task ordered by the clinician. 4. Operate equipment such as bag valve mask resuscitators, external defibrillators, and electrocardiograms for advanced life support applications. 5. Administer medications as appropriate and necessary via rectal, injection, intravenous or oral administration under the direction of the clinician 6. Communicate pertinent patient data clearly, concisely, and promptly to the rest of the health care team 7. Provide routine instructions and health information to patients/families (for instance, provide crutch/splint, cast discharge instructions, and crutch walking) 8. Complete allocated non-direct patient care tasks as directed by the clinician 9. Respond to emergency situations consistent with level of training 10. Adhere to clinic policies and procedures 11. Performs other work and activities as required or assigned Education and Experience:

  • Paramedic certification from an accredited program and a minimum 2 years of experience in Emergency Medical Services (EMS)
  • Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
    • Paramedic Certification in the State of Minnesota
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified
    • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified
