Overview:
We are looking for an Ultrasound Tecnologist to join our team at our Maplewood Imaging Center. -Position Details:1.0FTE - 80 hours worked every 2 weeksBenefit eligibleThis position is eligible for a $5000. sign-on bonus!!!

Responsibilities/Job Description:
The Ultrasound Technologist-Clinic functions independently based on the boundaries of professional practice in performing all major work responsibilities. The Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team. The technologist is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements (RDMS). -Performs diagnostic and therapeutic proceduresPerforms examinations with technical accuracy and in a timely mannerVerifies patient identification and documentationReviews physician order prior to exam or procedureCommunicates pertinent information to the appropriate healthcare professionalAchieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocolCommunicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of examRecognizes structures visualized and understands their significanceAccurately produces and records measurements according to protocolsAccurately conveys initial findings and clinical data to referring physicians and/or radiologistsParticipates in creating a culture of patient safetyDemonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness for facilityApplies established professional guidelines and standards to complex, routine, and non-routine diagnostic testing proceduresEnsures patient data integrityAdheres to radiologic safety guidelines and diagnostic testing protocols/proceduresAccurately documents in compliance with regulatory agency requirements., completes computer functions, edits, scheduling, and billing status changesFollows infection control guidelinesServes as a resource for other healthcare team membersResponds appropriately to emergent situationsAccurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archivingAssesses the validity of the test results to determine if consistent with changing physiological conditions or if due to possible interfering substancesActs as a resource for problem-solving resolutionAssembles similar relevant exams and reportsDocuments initial and ongoing data, interventions, responses/results, or interventions consistent with established policies/procedures/guidelinesDirectly communicates abnormal results to care giverCompleted all require continuing education to uphold their imaging licensureParticipates as an active team memberParticipates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiativesResponsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for positionCleans and maintains room and suppliesProvides integrated services with customers and care partners to ensure high quality careContributes to a positive work environmentPerforms other duties as assignedCorrectly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelinesIdentifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly.Maintains a high level of competencyAccepts new technology as it's introduced into the facilityParticipates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendationsPrepares and plans ahead to coordinate exams and organizes patient care to ensure quality and continuity of patient careDemonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population servedAssesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomesInvolves the patient, family and other health team members in gathering dataDocuments data and identified outcomes -Develops an individualized nursing plan of careCollaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of carePrioritizes interventions based on patient acuity, available resources, and patient/family preferences and needsDocuments and updates the plan of care to assure continuity throughout the continuum of careImplements nursing interventions based on the plan of careProvides care according to the plan, and in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures and nursing practice guidelinesCoordinates nursing care with the care of all other health team membersInitiates age and culturally appropriate measures to support and meet patient needs while achieving expected outcomes.Initiates patient/family teaching as appropriate to age, readiness to learn and available resourcesCollaborates, consults, or makes referrals if unable to perform safely and independently -Evaluates care and patient response to interventions and expected outcomesSystematically and continuously evaluates patient's response to interventions and the effectiveness of the plan of careModifies the interventions based on patient response and changing patient conditionUses ongoing assessment data to revise patient needs; priority problems, nursing outcomes and the plan of care

Qualifications:
Required:Education at a level to be ARDMS registry eligible, including successful completion of sonography clinical requirementsARDMS registered in one specialty or ARRT RT (S) registered within 90 days of employmentBasic Life Support - must be current and from American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationAdditional registrations may be required for specific locations based on the site's accreditations (for example: ACR, AIUM, IAC) and/or regulatory requirementsPreferred:Graduate of an accredited ultrasound programARDMS registered in multiple specialties
