Job Description:

Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is seeking a Director of Manufacturing Operations to join our team. The Director of Manufacturing Operations oversees all areas of manufacturing to produce products and direct activities so that customer orders are manufactured on-schedule, within quality standards and meet cost objectives. This position also plans, organizes, and directs the casting producing, casting processing and production planning activities consistent with Company objectives to maximize productivity at minimal cost. Coordinate the activities of department managers to ensure the accomplishment of production goals considering quality, sales, and delivery.

Major Responsibilities:


  • Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established customer and company quality standards
  • Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan
  • Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation
  • Direct and monitor department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures
  • Act as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as, executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes and results.
  • Identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce cost and scrap, monitor scrap and rework data
  • Direct and coordinate various programs essential to manufacturing procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.)
  • Direct the establishment, implementation and maintenance of production standards
  • Initiate and coordinate major projects, (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.)
  • Keep current on information and technology affecting functional areas to increase innovation and ensure compliance
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Comply with all safety, DOT, HAZMAT and environmental policies and procedures

  • Work on/participate in special projects as needed or assigned by Management


    Requirements:


    • Education: Bachelors' degree in business administration/related field and/or equivalent experience required for this role
    • Experience: 10+ years previous experience in a process-oriented manufacturing environment required for this role
    • Certifications/Licenses: None
    • Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Attention to detail, ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), ability to work with others through complex situations
