JOB DESCRIPTION
About the Company and Opportunity:Director of Finance

  Overview of the Director of Finance role:
  • Supervision of Finance Specialist.
  • Preparation of financial statements and reports for Board and management.
  • Oversight of A/R, A/P, Payroll, General Ledger, cost allocations and all other accounting functions.
  • Cash Management, including oversight of banking function, cash flow projections and bank reconciliations.
  • Development of annual organizational budget and program budgets with input from program directors, development manager and Executive director.
  • Development and Implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Maintenance and oversight of internal controls.
    Preferred Background:
    • 5+ years or more of accounting/financial analysis experience, with at least 2 of those years being in a nonprofit organization.
    • A working knowledge of general accepted accounting practices (GAAP) and familiarity with non-profit accounting techniques and reporting. Fund Accounting experience.
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related field and/or equivalent experience in a professional environment.
    • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft O?ice products.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
      • Familiarity with financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting Interpersonal skills, ability to maintain relationships with colleagues.
      • Demonstrated ability to accurately complete projects in a timely manner.
      • Demonstrated ability to produce financial reports as directed by Executive Director and Board of Directors A knack for numbers and trends, with a passion and eye for the details.

      • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
