Position Opening: Accounting ManagerAnnual Salary: $62,500 to

benefits -POSITION AT A GLANCE
-ISAIAH is seeking an Accounting
Manager with non-profit experience who can prepare clear financial
statements and succinct financial narrative reports and has a clear
interest in ISAIAH's mission.ISAIAH is located in St. Paul, MN,
near 280 and University Ave. It is helpful to be able to work in
person at least twice a week.This is a full-time, exempt position
with generous benefits. The ideal starting date is late April/early
May 2023.ISAIAH and its related organizations have a combined
annual budget of -$3-4.5 million. ISAIAH's related organizations
include a 501(c)4 non-profit, political committee, and sponsored
programs. More info is at the end of this posting. -WHY IS THIS
POSITION IMPORTANT?The Accounting Manager is key in ensuring we
have strong financial controls, timely and accurate financial
statements, and an organization that starts and ends each year in
good fiscal health. Our staff and leaders advocate for issues
aligned with our shared values, such as a caring economy that works

stewardship.This work is only possible with strong financial
support and internal controls. Finding a capable Accounting Manager
is critical in helping our organizations stay on top of day-to-day
accounting, adherence to GAAP and FASB standards, work through
complex transactions, and meet long-term needs through forecasting,
planning, and monitoring internal finances. Lastly, because
ISAIAH's advocacy work is overseen and governed by the IRS and MN
Campaign Finance Board, the Accounting Manager will be trained on
and expected to keep up their knowledge about relevant regulations
and to help ensure compliance with the law. -Responsibilities of
the Accounting -ManagerFinancial Accounting
Accurately classify and record all
bank, credit card, and additional items, and maintain documentation
for auditors, and track pledges and receipts.Prepare monthly bank,
credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations, and spot-check
large and unique transactions.Make necessary closing journal
entries such as prepaid expenses, depreciation, grant restrictions
and releases, shared cost allocations, and due to/due
froms.Financial management, analysis, and guidance
Maintain strong financial processes
and systems that allow for accuracy and responsible stewardship of
a combined $3 to 4.5 million annual budget.Work with senior
leadership to create annual budgets. Monitor organization and
program budgets with a balance between outcomes and financial
well-being.Regularly analyze financial statements and communicate
monthly forecasts for actual results against budgeted
projections.Work with the Operations Director to implement and
refine financial controls.Communicate efficiency ideas and expense
concerns or variances to leadership.Prepare monthly financial
reports for the Director of Operations; prepare and present
quarterly financial reports and narratives for the Board of
Directors.Audit, tax, and annual filings
Serve as liaison to external
auditors; prepare financial records for the audit.Work with outside
accountants to prepare 990s and ensure payroll software is filing
941s and other tax filings on time and accurately.Prepare and issue
reports/registrations as required by federal and local government,
including W-2/1099 forms, Charity Annual Report, and Secretary of
State renewals.Payroll and Human Resources
Assist the Director of Operations
with enrolling/terminating employees with payroll and benefits
providers, reconciling benefit invoices, and remitting
payments.Assist with maintaining and administering floating holiday
use, workers' compensation claims, disability claims, and wage
garnishments.Run bi-weekly payroll; enter and review payroll
journal entries.Collect and use timesheet data to create allocation
Journal Entries for payroll items.
-Organizational administration
Become familiar with MN's campaign
finance reporting requirements, lobbying limits, and prohibited
political activities per the Internal Revenue Code.Assist with the
reporting of advocacy and lobbying activities for ISAIAH and our
related organizations.Remain up-to-date with current developments
in accounting standards and other rules and regulations affecting

experience candidates should have:
Knowledge of GAAP and FASB standards
and IRS regulations and ability to maintain accurate financial
records by posting and verifying transactions.Experience with
creating month-end allocations, revenue restrictions and releases,
due to/due from between organizations, and tracking of prepaid
expenses/.Experience with coordinating audit activities, managing
reports, developing budgets, and overseeing accounts
receivable/payable.2-4 years of accounting experience with medium
to large organizations (nonprofit sector/QuickBooks Online
experience preferred).Knowledge of how to use spreadsheets for
analysis, reporting, and regular accounting functions, including
the use of formulas, filters, and conditional
formats.Comfortability using Microsoft and Google products for word
processing, spreadsheets, and email. Comfortable using Zoom/video
conferencing products.Other details about this position:
ISAIAH prefers if the candidate can
work in our St. Paul office at least twice a week, but is open to
other arrangements based on the skill set of the candidate.If
offered the position, the candidate must undergo a background
