Summary The Senior Director, Global Security will provide leadership in developing, implementing and administering an enterprise-wide global security strategy and program for CHS and will be responsible for developing and advocating security policies, standards and operational risk reduction measures to minimize vulnerability and limit exposure to CHS employees, assets, facilities/offices worldwide. Responsibilities Security Risk Assessment

  • Conduct an enterprise security risk assessment bi-annually (perhaps annually in select geographies) to best secure CHS 9,000(+) employees, its assets and facilities/offices worldwide.
  • This entails all aspects and attributes of global facility security, certain investigations, international operations and supporting administrative security activities to include definition of priorities, allocation of resources and alignment of security aims with strategic business objectives.     • Initiate and lead the advancement of international security strategies, plans, procedures, standards and service levels for supporting global operations and monitors for overall effectiveness.
    • Develop protection strategies for employees and expatriate staff in foreign countries and provides oversight for executive, dependent, event and travel security protocols. Develop executive protection strategies on as needed basis for special events (board meetings, leadership meetings, etc.)
    • Keep abreast of economic, geo-political, groups, threats and trends that may affect CHS operations world-wide and provides intelligence and threat reports as dictated by operational priorities.Investigations
      • Counsels and coordinates with relevant parties on matters involving workplace violence prevention, fraud, intervention and investigation.
      • In co-ordination with Legal and Compliance and Integrity, initiates, conducts, manages and coordinates complex and/or sensitive investigations involving criminal or unethical behavior along with violations of laws and CHS policies and Code of Conduct;Security Infrastructure
        • Co-manage with the Director, EHS company participation within the International SOS emergency medical, safety and security program
        • Manage partnership with Corporate Travel to provide security training for employee travel, coordinate emergency response, and mini-risk assessments.
        • Maintain consultative and working relationships with internal constituencies (officers, senior business units and staff managers) and with external constituencies (key law enforcement / diplomatic / intelligence / regulatory agencies and services, consultants and contractors, as well as peer industry counterparts) by serving as CHS principal security liaison for all matters relating to the protection of staff and corporate assets. Specifically, maintains operational relationships with allied Non-Governmental Organization (NGO s), and with Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), US Department of State (DOS), Domestic Security Alliance Council (DSAC) and with the FBI.
        • Stay current with innovative industry practices for security management, systems and solutions and applies best current practice(s) across CHS businesses.
        • Engage and negotiate contracts with global outsourced network of best-in-class security and third-party providers to ensure cost-effective services and measured results.
        • Participate in and manage the security aspects associated with incident/emergency response exercises and events.
        • Regularly audits program elements to ensure compliance with corporate policy and affected regulatory requirements, if any.
        • Oversee the development of corporate-wide metrics that measure loss, offense frequency and severity of security related events and provides recommendations to corporate leadership for mitigation or reoccurrence preventionTraining
          • Identify and direct the appropriate levels of security training and awareness initiatives for employees, particularly focused on workplace violence, and assures senior management of the adequacy of existing security resources across the enterprise Minimum Qualifications (required)
            • 10+ years related experience in-house with a Fortune 500 corporate security role balanced with 5+ years in civilian or military law enforcement and/or security positions.
            • Bachelor s degree in business or security administration, criminal justice or related discipline (or equivalent education/ training/ experience).
            • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or other related professional security designation.
            • Ability to travel extensively (domestically and internationally), sometimes on short notice.
            • Excellent leadership skills and demonstrated expertise in managing crisis situations.
            • Ability to promote the Security function as subject matter expert within CHS while demonstrating familiarity with industry best practices and knowledge of metrics defining operational performance.
            • Understanding of differences in practices and standards across geographies and cultures.
            • Ability to quickly empathize with the organization s culture and to align processes and programs to maintain service-oriented/customer-driven approach while demonstrating excellent organizational skills, solid decision-making and sound judgment.
            • Ability to identify risk, define mitigation measures and maintain a protective mindset based on experience in leading conducting and understanding security management in a vulnerability assessment culture.
            • Demonstrated ability to operate across a global Fortune 500 organization. Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively across all CHS businesses and functions.
            • This position requires an incumbent who is a strategic thinker and planner with superior analytical, evaluative, prioritization and problem-solving skills. The ability to gather, critically evaluate and present information in an organized manner is essential.
            • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills to speak and communicate effectively at all levels.
            • Ability to influence expectations and mitigate conflict. Willingness to challenge status quo, innovate and introduce new ideas aligned with CHS culture and mission.
            • Must be able to develop and clearly articulate a compelling, long-term vision for management and the Board of Directors and inspire active participation by employees.
            • Must have integrity, credibility, objectivity, and respect across all parts of the business and functions and with Law Enforcement or Government Agencies. Additional Qualifications
