Role: Director/Sr. Director - Future of Professionals

Reports to: Chief Strategy Officer

Location: Remote, or Minneapolis-St. Paul, Dallas, Toronto, Zug

The Future of Professionals role is responsible for driving thought leadership on the trends driving the evolution of professional work, across our industries and geographies, and ensuring internal and external stakeholders benefit from these insights.

About the Role

In this opportunity as Future of Professionals Director/Sr Director, you will:

Strategic Research + Planning (Thought Leadership):

Provide thought leadership on the 'Future of Professionals' to shape Thomson Reuters' investment priorities across Legal, Tax & Accounting, Corporates, Risk, Fraud & Compliance, ESG, and additional verticals/adjacencies:

  • Drive 1st party research, and leverage 3rd party research, to identify the key trends impacting the evolution of professional work, including the identification of high-value emerging scenarios and declining scenarios
  • Drive and facilitate direct customer conversations to share Thomson Reuters' perspectives and learn from our customers on the key trends shaping current and future investments
  • Present at relevant company events (internal and external) on the topic of Future of Professionals and implications for stakeholders
    Influence Thomson Reuters Investment Priorities:
    • Coordinate with, and influence, Product and Segment teams to ensure future priorities and investments are informed by customer insights
    • Provide key customer insights into Segment-level Strategy leaders for 'North Star' visions
    • Provide customer insights into product roadmap and capital planning process
      Bespoke Strategy Research Projects:

      To inform Strategic Planning activities:
      • Partner with Strategy Leadership Team to define bespoke research and/or updates to recurring research to solicit customer feedback on specific strategic topics
      • Partner with Market Insights team to coordinate research activity to inform activities above
      • Partner with Market/Competitive Intelligence team to bring together market sizing and competitive insights with customer insights, to collaborate on identification and prioritization of industry trends
        About You

        You're a fit for the role of Future of Professionals Director/Sr Director if your background includes:
        • Proven ability to identify and communicate market trends and distill key insights for decision making
        • Experience designing and executing on market research, including qualitative and quantitative methods
        • Experience using research and trend analysis to drive influence into product planning, partnership and M&A identification, and overall investment prioritization
        • Experience presenting to senior level audiences, both internally, and externally (including to customers)
        • Proven ability to produce high-quality written materials for senior-level consumption
        • Bachelors degree required in relevant discipline
        • 7-10+ years of relevant work experience
