Operational Excellence Manager is responsible for leading
operational excellence deployment at the St. Paul, Minnesota
location. This individual should be a strong team player with
highly developed communication and presentation skills with the
ability to lead multiple projects and activities.Essential Duties
and Responsibilities:
- Lead key operational projects including:
- Implementation of the Baxter Operating system (BOS)
- Developing Hoshin plans for the site
- Implementing and executing iCare, lean thinking, and lean
methodologies
- Develop and deploy the site's Value Improvement Project (VIP)
pipeline and continuous improvement program
- Maintain and update end to end Value Stream Mapping (VSM) for
the site
- Identify and deploy best practices for the site and Americas
region
- Coach and mentor site personnel, at all levels, to train and
implement lean.
- Work closely with site management to better understand how to
assist the site in its continuous improvement journey
- Ensure the site has appropriate number of Root Cause Problem
Solvers, Six Sigma Belts and Lean practitioners
- Coach and mentor site Green Belt candidates through their
qualifications and their continuing recertification
journeysQualifications:
- Must have hands on experience implementing Lean Thinking, Lean
Tools and Kaizen events to drive Lean improvements in manufacturing
operations
- Lean certification or Six Sigma Black Belt required
- Ability to apply Lean Thinking and Lean Tools
- Demonstrates effective root cause problem solving using Six
Sigma or Toyota 8 Step Process
- Must be proficient in the following areas:
- Negotiating, influencing, coaching, and facilitation
- Reading, writing, and verbal communication in English
- Analytical and statistical problem solving
- Proven skills working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong negotiating and influencing skills.Education and/or
Experience:
- BS/BA degree in Business Management, Engineering, or other
related field of study. MBA, MS or another technical graduate
degree preferred.
- Certified Black Belt
- Minimum 5 years of business operations, plant manufacturing, or
engineering experience
- Broad business knowledge and ability to link customer needs
