* At Securian Financial Group the internal title for this position is Customer Operations Analyst. Position Summary: Provides routine external customer-facing servicing and administration support for Define Contribution Retirement plan clients, ensuring that good customer relations are maintained, and customer business and issues are resolved fairly and effectively (Excludes the Contact Center). Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Manage client relationships within the Retirement Services team. This includes serving as the lead contact to facilitate effective communication with clients in the special/micro market and partnering with them to create and maintain successful working relationships. * Accountable to assigned clients for results of work performed by all Securian Retirement units, meeting deadlines and ensuring effective results for the client. This includes technical servicing (compliance testing and plan reporting) and financial administration. * Manages IRS compliance testing and other complex administrative functions. * Ensures that all clients are operating in conjunction with their plan documents and both existing and new IRS and Department of Labor regulations. * Educates clients on products and service offerings and how they impact the plan and potentially increase assets. * Respond to, research and resolve difficult administration problems. Qualifications: * Demonstrated ability to manage a client caseload and make decisions with appropriate concern for department and client needs. * Ability to work independently and prioritize heavy workloads while meeting services deadlines and working effectively in a team environment. * Demonstrated strong verbal and written skills to effectively communicate complex and sensitive issues to clients, Field and Home Office associates. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret plan documents and resolve service or client issues. * Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment. * Able to work extended hours from January to April each year. * MS Excel and MS Word Preferred Qualifications: * 7+ years defined contribution retirement plan administration experience Physical Job Requirements: * Ability to work at least 40 hours per week * Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 4-8 hours per day * Ability to utilize telephone for approximately 2-4 hours per day * Ability to perform simple grasping including handwriting, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, etc. periodically throughout entire workday The physical job requirements described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
